00:06He has ranked this course as the number one

00:08publicly accessible golf course in America.

00:11This is a 2001 Tom Doak design.

00:14It's got back-to-back par threes on the Pacific.

00:17It's got a couple of the most iconic par fours

00:19you'll ever see on the Pacific.

00:21It's incredibly well-designed.

00:23It's beautiful.

00:24We happened to get it on a day

00:26where it was foggy, marine layer.

00:28So foggy that you actually couldn't see at all

00:30past pretty much the cliff line.

00:32We're gonna play one of the most iconic par fours

00:34in the world today.

00:35We're just gonna play it in pure fog

00:37where you can't actually see the ocean.

00:39This is a 449 yard from the greens, par four.

00:44The other weird part about today

00:45is we got it in a complete opposite summer wind.

00:48The wind is pretty much always out of the north.

00:50In the summertime, it flipped this day.

00:52It brought in the marine layer,

00:53and we were playing it straight into a wind.

00:55Go to the tee here on four.

00:57I got mini driver.

00:58It was my weapon of choice.

00:59You can hear from the other guys in the group

01:01after I hit this thing.

01:03It was just a weapon that week.

01:04I was hitting it good, feeling really good.

01:06So I know the hole is long,

01:07but look, there's ocean all down the right.

01:09There's a whole set of bunkers up the left,

01:11and you're just trying to hit a decent one

01:13in the middle of fairway.

01:14I smoked this one.

01:15It felt great.

01:15I was excited about it.

01:17I want you to look at some of this footage

01:20when there's not a marine layer.

01:22Come on, buddy.

01:24This tee shot is just as epic as it gets.

01:27It's what this whole place is all about.

02:01Getting out to the fairway, as you can see.

02:03This is our look.

02:04We pretty much split the fairway right down the middle.

02:06We've got 187 playing into the wind, heavy air.

02:10I'm gonna let you listen to myself

02:11and our great caddy, Odie, talk through it.

02:14Oh, yeah, you can hear it.

02:15Yeah, I mean, it's like probably 187,

02:17then, you know, raw, then you got wind and heavy air,

02:20so it's probably a little over 200.

02:23As he says, it's playing well over probably 200 yards,

02:26so I've got a full four iron.

02:28You just gotta sack up and hit it.

02:32That thing, for me, was about as pure

02:34as a golf shot could be.

02:36I hit it right at the right side of the green.

02:39Once we got up there, probably 30 feet or so

02:41in kind of the middle right part of the green

02:43to this back left pin.

02:45Excellent shot, thrilled.

02:46Look at this view, even in the fog.

02:48You can hear the rugged ocean roaring

02:52as you're trying to putt,

02:53as your buddies are putting around.

02:55Wag putt from, let's call it, 30 feet

02:57straight into the wind.

02:59I whacked it up there pretty good, took a couple hobbles,

03:01maybe not the best, most purely struck putt in history.

03:04Comes up a few feet short,

03:06tough hole, giving strokes on this one,

03:07so we got a tester, a little bit of a tester here

03:10to get out of the hole and just buried it,

03:12drilled it right in the middle.

03:13You might be wondering what the red band is

03:15on my right arm.

03:16We got an IV that morning.

03:17We went to, I think, Bandon IV Lounge,

03:19and it was an excellent experience.

03:20I've never done an IV before,

03:22but you're out there, you're dehydrated

03:24because you're walking, you're having a few cocktails.

03:27Went with the IV, didn't really take it off.

03:29I thought it was kind of a badge of honor,

03:30and that's why I have a red band on my right arm.

03:32Excellent par, excellent hole.

03:34This is one of the coolest courses that's ever been built.

03:37Again, we got it on a foggy day,

03:39but that's also kind of part of the charm.

03:40You go out to Bandon, could be raining sideways,

03:42hail blowing 40 miles an hour.

03:44It could be a marine layer fog.

03:46It looked kind of mysterious and mystic and cool,

03:49so foggy day, maybe not the views

03:51everybody was built out for,

03:52but guess what?

03:53You gotta play the conditions that you got.

03:54Played it well on that fourth hole, which is phenomenal.

03:57Playing Packed Dunes, one of the coolest holes.

03:58We're thrilled with the par on that one.
