00:00In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
00:07A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his five-year-old son waiting for him at the door.
00:20Son, Daddy, may I ask you a question?
00:25Dad, yeah sure, what is it? replied the man.
00:30Son, Daddy, how much do you make an hour?
00:35Dad, that's none of your business.
00:39Why do you ask such a thing?
00:43The man said angrily.
00:46Son, I just want to know, please tell me, how much do you make an hour?
00:54Dad, if you must know, I make $20 an hour.
01:01Oh! the little boy replied.
01:04With his head down, looking up, he said,
01:09Daddy, may I please borrow $10?
01:13The father was furious.
01:16If the only reason you ask that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense,
01:28then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed.
01:34Think about why you are being so selfish.
01:38I work hard every day for such this childish behavior.
01:44The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
01:50The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions.
01:59How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
02:05After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down and started to think
02:12maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $10
02:19and he really did not ask for money very often.
02:25The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
02:32Are you asleep, son? he asked.
02:35No, daddy, I am awake, replied the boy.
02:39I have been thinking maybe I was too hard on you earlier, said the man.
02:47It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you.
02:53Here's the $10 you asked for.
02:56The little boy sat straight up, smiling.
03:01Oh, thank you, daddy, he yelled.
03:04Then he reaching under his pillow, he pulled out some crumpled up bills.
03:11The man seeing that the boy already had money started to get angry again.
03:19The little boy slowly counted out his money and then looked up at his father.
03:26Why do you want more money if you already have some, the father grumbled.
03:33Because I did not have enough, but now I do, the little boy replied.
03:40Daddy, I have $20 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?
03:46Please come home earlier tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.
03:53Share this story with someone you like, but even better,
03:58share $20 worth of time with someone you love.
04:03It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life.
04:10We should not let time slip through our fingers
04:15without having spent some time with those who really matter to us.
04:21Those close to our hearts.
04:23If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.
04:34But the family and friends who leave behind will feel the loss.
04:41For the rest of their lives and come to think of it,
04:46we pour ourselves more into work than to our family and unwise investment indeed.
04:55So what is the moral of the story?
04:59Don't work too hard. And you know what's the full word of family?
05:04Family is equal to father and mother. I love you.
