00:30What exactly is a space marine? Hi, I'm Clive Standen and I play Lieutenant Titus

00:38in Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 and they wouldn't let me have the job if I

00:44couldn't answer that question. Space marines are in essence the greatest

00:53fighting force ever created. While once human, space marines have been

00:59genetically altered to be bigger, faster and stronger.

01:06Three lungs to breathe in any environment, two hearts to love their

01:11brothers twice as hard, enhanced blood that instantly scars any wound, the list

01:16it goes on. No limb or organ survives unchanged throughout the process of

01:21making a space marine. Each space marine is part of a chapter. Army groups of a

01:27thousand warriors and the best and bluest of the ultramarines. Now I may be

01:35biased but I think they represent everything awesome about space marines.

01:39The ultramarines are descended from the primarch Reboute Guillemin, one of a

01:46brotherhood of demigod heroes created by the Emperor 10,000 years ago to lead his

01:53space marine armies. See half of these primarchs they turned on the Emperor

01:57plunging the galaxy into civil war but the ultramarines they remained loyal and

02:04to this day stand as noble champions of humanity. This guy, well he created the

02:11Codex Astartes, a massive tome of knowledge for how space marines should

02:17deploy and make war. The ultramarines have mastered these teachings becoming a

02:22deadly fighting force precise and disciplined in the execution of war. As

02:27these weapons of war charged to new battlefields against foes deadlier than

02:32was thought possible. We zoom into one particular conflict and one rather

02:38notable protagonist but that story is for our next video.
