The Kuala Lumpur High Court has once again deferred its decision on Swatch's application
00:07
for a judicial review to challenge the government's seizure of pride-themed watches.
00:13
The Edge reported that Datuk Amarjeet Singh postponed his decision, fixing November 25th
00:19
to deliver his verdict, after originally scheduling it on July 4th.
00:24
In May last year, authorities raided Swatch stores at 11 malls across Malaysia, confiscating
00:30
172 watches they described as having LGBT elements.
00:35
The seizure was in line with provisions under Section 7 of the Printing Presses and Publications
00:40
Act.
00:41
In its suit challenging the seizure and the return of the items as well as unspecified
00:45
damages, Swatch said its trading reputation has been damaged.
00:50
It also said the watches did not promote any sexual activity, but merely a fun and
00:55
joyous expression of peace and love.
