00:10A total of 24 individuals, including 19 children, were detained during the raids, which were
00:16carried out across three districts starting at 7 am on Saturday.
00:22The majority of arrests took place at a residence owned by a GISB member in Kuala Sungai Bahru
00:30Alor Gaja. Among those detained were two men and three women from a charity home,
00:36as well as individuals from a restaurant, a curtain shop, a mini market, a bakery,
00:41and a noodle processing factory in Serkam.
00:44Many of the premises raided were found to be vacant, including two bungalows in Krubong,
00:50Melaka Tengah District, which had been used as charity homes by the organisation.
00:55The operation, led by Melaka Police, also involved officers from the Social Welfare
01:00Department, the Melaka Islamic Religious Department, the Registrar of Societies,
01:06and the Companies Commission of Malaysia.
01:09Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razaruddin Hussain had earlier confirmed that multiple
01:14raids were conducted on GISB-owned business centres, including its headquarters in Bandar
01:20Country Homes, Rawang, Selangor.
01:24Raids were also carried out at various other locations across the country early Saturday.
