Hi guys, someone great once said, life is what you make of it.
00:06
Make Monday morning the best of your day and work day.
00:11
There is a term in dynamics of motion known as free body diagram.
00:15
This time, we will talk about it.
00:20
We see a solid ball hung on a rope attached to a wall.
00:24
Well, we are asked to draw a free body diagram of this system.
00:30
Let's go to the discussion sheet.
00:34
A free body diagram or FBD consists of a diagrammatic representation of a single body
00:40
or a subsystem of bodies isolated from its surroundings showing all the forces acting on it.
00:47
This system consists of a single body, namely the ball.
00:51
So we will identify what forces are acting on the ball.
00:57
The ball is around the earth.
00:59
The ball will get a gravitational force towards the center of the earth.
01:03
We often write the gravitational force as W.
01:09
The rope is in a tense condition.
01:11
The molecules of the rope will pull the ball in accordance with the direction of the rope.
01:16
This pull is known as the tension force of the rope, often symbolized as T.
01:23
The ball does not penetrate the surface of the wall.
01:26
It means the normal force acts in the direction normal to the contact surface.
01:31
This force is often written as N.
01:36
It seems that there are no other forces besides these three forces.
01:41
This is the free body diagram of the ball.
01:46
In the analysis of motion dynamics, we must draw the free body diagram correctly.
01:51
Happy learning everyone!
