00:00What have you been doing with all your free time lately?

00:04Autopilot toast.

00:05Yeah.

00:06I made a record.

00:07It comes out September 20th.

00:08It's called 143.

00:10It's a dance pop record and it's super fun.

00:12It's a lot of tempo.

00:13It's a lot of love and it's a record I made after having my child and kind of feeling

00:19I'm definitely operating out of a totally different space now.

00:23I'm really appreciative of this space.

00:26It's a little bit more like fulfilled.

00:28It's a little bit less worrisome.

00:30It's a little less on the defense.

00:34It's a little less broken.

00:35It's a little bit more whole and happy and full of light and continuing to spread that

00:40love and light.

00:41And so it is called 143 because that's my angel number.

00:44Yeah.

00:45Do you have like a little symbol or something that you like that kind of makes you feel

00:49secure?

00:50My favorite number is three.

00:52Oh, cool.

00:53So I roll with that a lot, but not like I don't see it everywhere.

00:55Like if you go to Vegas and you win on a three, you're like, yeah.

00:58It's more of the color.

00:59Yeah.

01:04Okay.

01:05But speaking of creating, is this the first album since Daisy was born?

01:06Yes, it is.

01:07Yeah.

01:08Does that change your perspective at all when creating?

01:09No.

01:10I mean, it's just, it definitely has influenced it in an amazing way and in a love filled

01:17way.

01:19But as far as priorities in life, I say no to a lot, you know, and you super streamline

01:26your goals and your priorities when you have kids.

01:30Because like every day, you know, that you're working or even anything, like any ask, it's

01:37like, okay, well, remember, that's time you get to spend with your kids.

01:40So just navigate that as best you can, because if you say yes to this, that's one less day

01:47with them or blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

01:50But you know, we've struck a balance and I feel like I've so far been able to lay a

01:56really nice foundation for her, hopefully emotionally, and I can go and I can go back

02:01out into the world and show her what makes mom really happy.

02:08And I think her happiness will come from that as well, seeing her mom happy.

02:12That's going to be so adorable to see her at shows, just hanging out, maybe until too

02:17late sometimes.

02:18Yeah, maybe.

02:19Yeah.

02:20Maybe before bed, say goodnight.

02:21I'll be like, it's a woman's world, have you crashed your team yet?

02:25Yeah.

02:26Supermom's doing it all.

02:27They do.

02:28And they do so much.

02:29And you don't even have to be a pop star to know that.

02:32And you don't, you know, there's like, that's why I wrote Woman's World is just like, I have

02:38always respected my mom, but then after having a family, I'm like, how are we alive?

02:45We didn't even have iPads.

02:48How did we have food?

02:50Like this is so wild.

02:52I know.

02:53It's like, and you raised three of us.

02:54Are you okay?

02:55You know, raising one is like, it's intense, you know, Bruce like, yeah, yeah, I got it.

03:10And you know, your pet can be your fur baby, your pet, your fur baby.

03:19Like what's to come from the album, Lifetimes, obviously Woman's World, so big and female

03:23empowerment.

03:24Is there any more of those themes in the album or is it going to be?

03:26There is a lot of, there's one song called Wonder, which is basically about growing up,

03:33but not growing old, never losing that light in your eyes.

03:38There's a song that I feel like will be used for every makeup tutorial called Gorgeous

03:44featuring Kim Petras.

03:47There is a, one of my favorite songs that I got to write was called All the Love.

03:52All the love that I ever lost came back to me.

03:54I was frozen.

03:55I was hopeless.

03:56And now there's poetry in every moment.

03:58All the love that I ever lost came back to me.

04:02And there's just like a lot of tempo.

04:04So if you know, it's one of those records that helps you say yes to the night.

04:10I love that.

04:11You know, influences you.

04:13Totally.

04:22If you had to say, what's like one thing we need to know before we listen to one, four,

04:31Um, just, you know, I think it's fun to work out too.

04:36If you want to go on the, if you want to go for a run and listen to it, it'll help you

04:39run faster.

04:40I will tell you that.

04:41I mean, don't quote me on that because I'm not a doctor.

04:45But I think it's going to get, it gives you a pulse, you know?

04:49It's like when I wrote lifetimes, every time I started to actually track it and record

04:56it and I was tired in the studio or whatever, and I started, I would, I switch between songs

05:01when I'm putting finishing touches on them.

05:04So I'll be like, okay, let's do a verse of this.

05:06And then I'll do a verse of this.

05:07Every time I came back to lifetimes, I was like re-energized.

05:11So it gives you that energy.

05:13It's just a fun record.

05:15And you know, I also say like, it's not that deep, although there are a few songs that

05:20are kind of deep because they're about the birth of my child and just the love.

05:24But the world is got a lot of deep, you know, um, intense things going on.

05:31There's a lot of intense things going on in the world.

05:34And so sometimes I think, you know, when it comes to entertain, entertainment, entertainment,

05:40there can be like the opposite of that going on and it can be helpful because you do need

05:46sometimes to let a little bit of the, you know, pressure off the pipes.

05:53So and how do you do that?

05:55Maybe you do that by moving your body, getting out of your head, getting back into your body,

06:00dancing, swimming.

06:01I don't know.

06:02Totally.

06:03Go for a hike and listen to this.

06:06Grab yourself your favorite beverage, go for a hike, share some headphones with a friend

06:15and let's rage.

06:17I mean, it's very Californian to do that.

06:35It was such a crazy thing.

06:37My mom, my mom actually, she was like, you look so great.

06:41And I'm like, oh mom, not there.

06:43They're coming for you, baby.

06:46Actually it's so funny.

06:47There is a song on the record called Artificial featuring JID and it's a commentary on AI

06:54and I wrote it quite a while ago.

06:57Even before that happened to me.

07:01It's just like a commentary on like, what is this going to be?

07:04You know?

07:05But I do think that like there's going to be so much great stuff that does come out

07:08of it.

07:09Like I think sick people are going to be well, um, faster and for longer and cured, you know,

07:16things.

07:17A lot of people are going to be cured of a lot of things because the science is going

07:20to be figured out so much quicker because the math will math.

07:24That's a good way to look at it.

07:25Yeah.

07:26I mean, it's like a doomsday, but yeah, but like there is something, someone told me this,

07:30they said, you know, the, when the automobile was invented, we were in the horse and buggy

07:36stage in, in, in the world and they had, um, there was a specific job for a person, a guy

07:43to walk in front of the automobile as to help not, um, scare the horse and buggy.

07:49There's some like that was, that was like a job.

07:51It was a career.

07:52Like I'm a guy who walks in front of the car, make sure that the horses don't get

07:57spooked.

07:58And cause can you imagine people were so freaked out by like a car?

08:00Yeah.

08:01What do we do?

08:02All these horses.

08:03Yeah.

08:04And what do we do with all these horses now?

08:05That was our first automobile.

08:06That's so true.

08:07Even with gas stations, when that came around, change, change is tough for everyone, but

08:11we're supposed to change.

08:12We're supposed to evolve.

08:14That's the game.
