Sally Boyden - "Talk To The Animals" (1977)
Transcript
00:00If I could talk to the animals, just imagine it, chatting to a chimp in the chimpanzee.
00:10Imagine talking to a tiger, chatting to a cheetah. Oh, what a neat achievement that would be.
00:18If we could talk to the animals, learn their languages, maybe take an animal degree.
00:26I'd study elephants and eagle, buffalo and beetle, alligator, guinea pig and flea.
00:34I would converse in polar bear and python, and I would curse in fluid kangaroo.
00:41If people asked me, can you speak rhinoceros, I'd say, of course, yes. Can't you?
00:57If I conferred with our furry friends, man to animal, think of the amazing repartee.
01:05I could walk with the animals, talk with the animals, grunt and squeak and squawk with the animals.
01:13And they could talk to me.
01:19If I consulted with quadrupeds, think what fun we'd have, asking over crocodiles for tea.
01:29Or maybe luxury two or three lines, walruses or sea lions. What a lovely place the world would be.
01:48If I spoke slang to orangutans, the advantages any fool on earth could plainly see.
02:06Discussing Eastern art and drama with intellectual arts, that's a big step forward, you'll agree.
02:14I'd learn to speak in antelope and turtle. My Pekingese would be extremely good.
02:21If I were asked to sing in hippopotamus, I'd say binotimus and wood.
02:28In my good parley with peccatons, it's a fairytale worthy of Hans Anderson or Grimm.
02:36Someone who walks with the animals, talks with the animals, grunts and squeaks and squawks with the animals.
02:44And they could talk to me.
02:54I heard you.
03:05I heard you.
