00:00
So, let's talk about some of the buys here.
00:05
Let's talk about Marvin Harrison.
00:06
His name has been in the news, some quarterback comments, but Joe, you feel this is a perfect
00:10
time to buy low on Marvin Harrison.
00:13
Yeah, look, the target share wasn't there.
00:17
He got open sometimes and Murray didn't find him.
00:19
It's going to take a little while.
00:20
Okay, fine.
00:21
I think the reason why you can buy low on him is because he's an unknown entity.
00:25
So he's a player that people like myself have hyped up in the marketplace, right?
00:29
Because a lot of people, you know, that still, you know, don't watch college football, but
00:33
love fantasy football and love NFL.
00:35
So they're saying, well, who's this Marvin Harrison guy?
00:38
Now I'm stuck with him on my team.
00:39
He's not going to be any good.
00:40
He's going to be fine.
00:41
Okay.
00:42
Like I'm not worried about him at all.
00:44
I think what you're looking for is a little bit more of we're coming back and we're game
00:49
planning on ways to get him to touch the football, making sure that he is involved in this game
00:54
plan a little bit better.
00:55
And I think that things just went off script a little bit, whatever was there.
00:58
He took it last week and Kyler Murray took a lot of Greg Dorch and, you know, made him
01:02
a rock star for week one.
01:04
But I don't think that's what you're going to see every single week.
01:05
The organization spent a fourth overall pick on Marvin Harrison Jr.
01:12
The organization is going to make sure that Marvin Harrison Jr. is involved.
01:16
And I think it's only a matter of time.
01:18
So the problem is like, this could be your window.
01:20
It could shut in week two.
01:21
It could happen that fast.
01:22
Now it might not.
01:24
Maybe week two is just better.
01:25
It's just a market improvement and things kind of go along.
01:28
But there's an opportunity here where Marvin Harrison Jr. just kind of shuts that window
01:33
all together this week.
01:34
So this might be your window to prime away where people are just feeling uneasy depending
01:38
on what their roster looks like.
01:39
It's like, man, this guy didn't really deliver.
01:41
He's an unknown entity.
01:42
And I think that's what goes against some players.
01:45
Sometimes, you know, trade pieces, as we'll talk about in a moment, sometimes it's great
01:49
when they have name brand value because you could sell them off the history of the player.
01:53
But other times, it's really difficult.
01:55
Player has no track record like Marvin Harrison in the NFL.
01:58
So Marvin Harrison becomes an interesting buy low because there is concern in the marketplace
02:03
for people who have him, who don't really understand or aren't as patient with him.
02:08
So Harrison, to me, is that number one guy on that board that I'd be buying.
02:12
All right.
02:13
Joe, as a fantasy manager, personally, I enjoy being a part of a team that has a wide range
02:19
of offense, but kind of like that old West Coast offense, a team that can really throw
02:24
it and air it out there.
02:25
Jacksonville is that team.
02:27
Is Brian Thomas Jr. that guy on the receiving end?
02:32
You know, I think this is a really interesting game here for him.
02:35
Last week, he had four catches on four targets, 47 yards and a touchdown, right?
02:39
There was more in there, too.
02:40
You saw some moments there where it could have even been better potentially for Brian
02:46
Thomas Jr.
02:47
He's got a tough matchup against Cleveland this week.
02:49
He's got some tough matchups coming up there, Buffalo and Houston, right?
02:53
Those are some good defenses.
02:55
But I'm trying to look ahead and project here.
02:57
And if we're getting off to a good start here with Brian Thomas Jr., Christian Kirk is a
03:02
nice wide receiver, but Christian Kirk isn't really an alpha.
03:05
I think the reason why we don't really see Brian Thomas Jr. in the same light is because
03:09
he played in college with Malik Neighbors, who got all the attention and all the hype.
03:13
But if you think about it, Brian Thomas Jr. was pretty damn good, too.
03:17
And now if you make him the number one target guy in this offense for Trevor Lawrence, good
03:22
things can happen.
03:23
Right now, if you're sitting there with Puka Nakua on your roster, who's going on the IR,
03:28
who's going to be out for six weeks potentially, and you can get Brian Thomas Jr. for Puka
03:33
Nakua, I would make that trade.
03:34
I would make that trade because I think there's an opportunity for Thomas to grow into that
03:37
role.
03:38
I'm not saying he's going to be able to do what Puka did last year, but do you really
03:41
want to wait six weeks for Puka Nakua to come back hopefully healthy?
03:45
And do you want to have that big gaping hole at your wide receiver spot?
03:48
Or do you want to take a guy like Brian Thomas, who I think people might not realize the asset
03:52
they have.
03:53
A lot of people might have just drafted him because of where he was in ADP, saw that good
03:56
first week and thought, okay, maybe pretty good.
03:59
But you dangle a big name like Puka Nakua, who's on the IR, people get very excited about
04:04
getting that big time star.
04:05
And Brian Thomas, again, like Marvin Harrison, a rookie, a bit of an unknown entity.
04:09
So I think that works in your favor if you're trying to make a deal for one of these guys.
04:13
So Brian Thomas, I think, has upside this week.
04:16
We'll talk in hour two about some of his props that I think I like the over on this week
04:20
too.
04:21
But there's definitely a spot here where Brian Thomas can continue to grow into this role
04:24
and could be the number one in this offense by the time we get to, say, Halloween.
