00:20Kott backcidentally jumped the gun a little, sharing the news,
00:25On an early hour of Today, before joining Bush Hager on Today with Hoda and and Jenna,
00:30she excitedly told Chanel Jones, Savannah Guthrie and Dylan Dreher,
00:35We actually are at work on our second Christmas song.
00:39…we're going to drop our second single.
00:42Kott went even further, teasing that the song they are considering was written by Meghan Trainor,
00:48who also wrote and performed Hoda and and Jenna's new theme song.
00:53When Kott finally joined Bush Hager on their show later that day,
00:57Bush Hager teased the mom-of-two, saying,
01:00You dropped a secret of ours, in the early hours, and I feel deceived.
01:05Her co-host explained that she heard that Jimmy Fallon
01:09and Justin Timberlake were going to release a Christmas song,
01:13and couldn't help but share the news, saying,
01:16I did not like to hear, about other people having a Christmas song,
01:21and I wanted them to know that we two are working on one. …sorry.
01:25Last Christmas, the duo released their first Christmas song called
01:29Carefree Christmas, recorded with singer Cheryl Porter.
01:33The group also shared a music video for the tune, which fans absolutely loved.
01:39Kott and Bush Hager praised Porter, a trained opera singer and vocal coach.
01:44They said on Today at the time,
01:47Cheryl is a person who can teach anyone to sing.
01:50She's amazing. She is like joy personified.
01:54She ran us through the paces, had us try to learn.
01:58They credited her with making the song what it was,
02:01claiming, without Cheryl, our song would sound a lot worse.
02:05Not only did she help us, but she sang a lot of it.
02:08There is no word on if Porter will be a part of the Today host's second Christmas song.
