00:05The resistance value of the middle pin to any end pin is variable.

00:09It is equivalent to splitting the potentiometer into two series resistors from the middle pin.

00:14The total resistance in series is fixed.

00:16Therefore, if it is used as a variable voltage divider resistor,

00:20then one end is connected to the input voltage and the intermediate end is the output.

00:25The remaining end is grounded.

00:27If it is used as a variable resistor, one end is connected to the input voltage,

00:32the intermediate end is the output,

00:34and the remaining end can be left open or connected to the middle end.
