Somebody who has Sheffield Wednesday in his blood... Neil Mellor's dad scored in the Boxing Day massacre, and when the Owls came knocking he jumped at the chance to follow in his old man's footsteps - he scored some goals, too!

00:04It probably never was in the end.

00:08Well, I mean, you had big shoes to fill in that sense, didn't you?

00:11Just on the Wednesday side, obviously, you came through the Academy at Liverpool.

00:16You had some pretty big moments at Liverpool.

00:19But a little bit further down the line, you get to 2010, 2011, that season.

00:25What was it that led to you joining Sheffield Wednesday?

00:27I know that you'd obviously worked with Alan Irvine before.

00:30Did that family connection as well with your dad, did that help Wednesday get the deal done?

00:35Without a doubt. Without a doubt.

00:37I remember even when I left Liverpool, speaking to the Chief Scout,

00:42who said, what clubs would you be interested in joining?

00:44And I said Sheffield Wednesday.

00:45Even back then, I ended up signing for Preston.

00:48Wednesday was a club that even today still means a lot to the family.

00:51The fact that my dad had played there, obviously had the Boxing Day massacre.

00:55My brother's a big Wednesday eye.

00:57You know, the fact that I had a season, so the club means so much to me.
