Donald Tusk has declared a month-long state of natural disaster as Poland braces for further flooding.

00:17Europe, which has caused severe flooding in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania

00:23There are two systems of European aid when it comes to the flood situation.
00:27The first is not related to the money that we receive, but to the possibilities of Europe
00:34when it comes to aid in equipment, people, technology and this is the mechanism of civil
00:41protection.
00:42At least 18 people have been killed in the floods so far and evacuations have taken place
00:48in Poland, the Czech Republic and Austria.
00:54An emergency shelter has been set up in the Tillen Exhibition Hall in Austria, while more
01:00than 5,000 troops have been deployed to southern Poland to help fortify sandbanks along the
01:06Niza-Klodzka River.
01:10Flood alert levels remain high in the Czech Republic, although meteorologists expect water
01:15levels in southern Bohemian rivers to reduce throughout the day.
01:20Slovakia's Interior Minister says the flood situation there is improving, but attention
01:26must now be turned to aftermath relief efforts.
01:30Meanwhile, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen has called for the solidarity
01:36of all of Europe to provide as much support as possible to the countries affected by flooding.
