00:59defense capabilities across the European continent and deter potential threats, given the latest

01:05geopolitical developments and the challenges Europe is facing.

01:08Tuesday's panels will address a number of aspects, from military to industrial, including

01:13political consequences.

01:14After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the question of how to build a stronger defense across

01:19Europe has become the top priority for European leaders, especially in light of the upcoming

01:25U.S. elections, which could determine a shift in U.S. defense support for Europe.

01:30The need for the EU to strengthen its defense system and boost arms production capacities

01:35are in fact some of the key goals of the next European Commission.

01:38We met one of the defense experts who will moderate one of Tuesday's panels here at the

01:43Italian Air Force Headquarters.

01:46Behind me, the panel will focus on the military aspect of European air and missile defense.

07:19Ryan Routh is facing a combined 20 years in prison if convicted of both of those.

07:24He is facing a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

07:29That relates to something that happened about 20 years ago in North Carolina when he had

07:33a standoff with police and also possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

07:40Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.

07:44The motive so far remains unclear, but the suspect's digital footprints suggest he had

07:49strong political viewpoints, including on Ukraine and China.

07:53Routh repeatedly shared his support for Ukraine on various social media platforms.

07:59He allegedly claimed to have run a recruitment scheme for international volunteers to fight

08:04for Ukraine against Russia's invasion.

08:07Ukrainian soldiers and members of the International Legion have denounced Routh's actions.

08:15MEDA announced on Monday that it is banning Russian state media outlets such as RT, Rossiya

08:21Segodnya and other related entities.

08:24The company claims the outlets had used deceptive tactics to carry out covert influence operations

08:30online.

08:32The ban marks an escalation in actions taken against Russian state media by MEDA, which

08:37had already blocked them from running ads and limited their reach.

08:41MEDA said it would apply the bans globally across all platforms, including Instagram,

08:46WhatsApp and Threads.

08:50A shortened version of Puccini's La Boheme premiered in Perugia, with the goal of captivating
