00:00Hey, look at this, aren't they beautiful 97 motorcycles sitting here quietly waiting for
00:26the 2024 BMW International GS Trophy here in Namibia.
00:37Hello and welcome my name is Jocelyn Snell and I'm John Beck and we're your
00:41hosts for the 2024 GS Trophy in Namibia and here they are the competitors.
01:26Back in 2008 at the first GS Trophy in Tunisia, BMW featured a radical new motorcycle in the F800
01:32GS. Now in 2024, BMW will again be showcasing a completely redesigned bike in the R1300 GS
01:39and everyone here is super curious to see how this bike will perform for the GS Trophy in Namibia.
01:44And now is one of my most exciting moments of this event. As a former competitor, I can tell
01:57you that the anticipation that the competitors are feeling as they wait to locate their motorcycle
02:03that they'll be riding is big. The bikes have their names on them, it has their country's flags
02:09on them. In just moments, Marcus Flesch will cut the ribbon and the stampede will begin.
02:17I declare the International GS Trophy 2024 in Namibia for open.
02:38It's such a wonderful feeling you know we've been waiting for this for almost one year
02:46and right now we are here in Namibia with our bikes. Such a happy moment.
02:53Well it's overwhelming if you see the atmosphere and this is the moment that so many people have
02:57been working towards. It's fantastic to see it all happen and we are looking forward to an
03:03adventure in the next days.
03:09And I'll show you
03:31As you can see the sun has gone down and the teams from around the world have just completed
03:35presentations for all their countries. And hopefully they get a good night's sleep because
03:40tomorrow bright and early the competition begins. We'll see you then.
