Well, they'll have to come with evidence and a plan for how they're going to comply with the regulations.
00:07
The regulations that we understand, through the evidence that's been provided by the Federal Government
00:12
and through my regulatory body in the Education Directorate, have shown that there have been breaches to compliance
00:19
around governance, financial viability, including ways that they've been reporting for the school.
00:29
So I'll need to have evidence within six weeks of the 3rd of September where I sent the letter
00:33
that they are complying with the regulations or that they have a plan in place to comply with the regulations.
00:40
I can't say what that will look like and what I'll need to be convinced by.
00:44
I'll need to see that evidence and then make a decision following that.
00:47
So we have taken a little bit of time to make sure we get it right.
00:50
We've given Brindabella Christian College as many opportunities as we can to come to the party, I guess,
00:56
come to the table and do what they're required to do.
00:59
And we'll continue to do that.
01:01
I've sent them a letter which gives them a six-week time frame to provide that evidence.
01:05
I'll consider the evidence when it arrives and I'll be advised on what the next appropriate action should be taken
01:11
should I be returned as the Education Minister.
01:13
This is quite a serious situation now.
01:16
There's no more beating around the bush on this one.
01:18
We do have to take it seriously.
01:20
We also have to be mindful of the impacts of any kind of drastic action that we might be required to take.
01:26
My hope is that we won't have to take any action and that the Brindabella Christian College will do what they need to do,
01:32
provide the evidence that will suggest that they're complying with the regulations.
01:38
I hope that that's what they'll do. It's in their hands, really.
