00:17I have to ask, because the exciting stuff at the moment, we've got this spacewalk underway.

00:21I've been following it here as well on the thing.

00:24They literally, basically, as we speak, they've just gone out of the Dragon spacecraft and

00:29the full spacewalk is taking place.

00:32Mr. Isaacman can be seen as he begins carrying out the suit test against the spectacular

00:36backdrop of the Earth.

00:38I don't know if you can see that, but you can follow that as well.

00:40Yes.

00:41It is quite incredible.

00:42Were you ever tempted yourself?

00:43Would you go and do it?

00:44Oh, of course I'd go and do it.

00:48It does sound amazing.

00:49It sounds wonderful.

00:50For those of you who don't know, Errol is a retired South African engineer, politician,

00:57and businessman, and a lover of fine cars.

00:59We compare notes off air, don't we?

01:02Which is all rather good.

01:03He's the father of somebody called Elon Musk, the entrepreneur and businessman who founded

01:08X.com in 1999, I think it was.

01:10That later became PayPal.

01:12He did SpaceX in 2002 and Tesla Motors in 2003.

01:16Elon Musk became a multimillionaire in his late 20s when he sold his startup company,

01:20Zip2, to a division of Compact Computers.

01:24He's got ownership stake in many different companies, including X.Corp, The Boring Company,

01:28X.A.I., Neuralink, OpenAI, and Starlink.

01:32He's been described as the Edison of our time and the de facto U.S. president.

01:37He's currently the richest person in the world with a net worth of 251 billion, and according

01:42to Bloomberg's Billionaires Index, a great thing to have, he's projected to become the

01:46first trillionaire by 2027.

01:50That's not bad, is it?

01:51It's got to be good.

01:55Help me out here, Errol, because I have people always around the world, and all I can do

01:58is write in and say, what do you give to the man who's got everything?

02:02You must know.

02:03What was the last thing you gave to Elon?

02:05Oh, that's a difficult one.

02:08No, I guess you buy a book, the latest interesting book, usually a tech sort of book, that comes

02:16to mind.

02:17We did do that, yes.

02:18A tech book.

02:19Sometimes a good history book.

02:21We can help rewrite the good history books, can't we?

02:25I think that's always important as well.

02:27What was the last thing he gave you, Errol?

02:30I hope it wasn't the flu or something, Errol.

02:35I have the flu at the moment.

02:38No, but he gave me a Bentley last week.

02:42Oh, that's the picture that you sent me.

02:44Glorious one.

02:45We drove down, I think, last time we spoke, which was interesting.

02:48Now, I want us to focus today on US politics and the extraordinary scene that we had.

02:54The finally long debated discussion between Harris and Trump.

03:00Did you both have a chance to see some of it, if not all of it?

03:03Yes.

03:04Yes, yes.

03:05Yes, definitely.

03:06And I know, Basil, you managed to see some sort of highlights, but you couldn't stand

03:09sitting through the whole thing, which is interesting.

03:11But what I loved about it was this is the first time.

03:15And Harris, I have to say, was a little bit better than we were expecting her to be.

03:20Let's first of all have a look, then, because there was a long time coming, this debate.

03:24And basically, they engaged in their first presidential debate focusing on topics such

03:28as the economy, trade policy and abortion rights.

03:31What was interesting were the debate rules.

03:33And I don't know if you know much about this, but there were basically discussions about

03:37muting the microphones, whether they should be muted when it's not a candidate's turn

03:41to speak.

03:42Basically, Harris's and Trump's campaign, they had different conflicts.

03:45And you'd be surprised about this, because basically, Harris's team advocated for live

03:49mics during the exchange, while Trump's team pushed for muted mics.

03:53And Trump's normal debating tactic is to bam, that's the speaker.

03:58But he didn't in this particular one.

04:00The debate lasted 90 minutes with two commercial breaks.

04:02And they were anchored by two ABC anchors, David Muir and Lindsay Davis.

04:07There was no audience in the room.

04:10The other rules was there's going to be no opening statements.

04:12And there was a two-minute closing statement.

04:14There was a restriction on props, no props, no pre-written notes, and no candidate-to-candidate

04:19questioning.

04:20And it all took place in the National Congress Constitutional Center in Philadelphia, a critical

04:25swing state.

04:27What was your general reaction, let's start with you, Errol, to that debate?

04:32Well, it was obvious that I think Trump did a fine job, as fine as he could.

04:39It was clear that Kamala Harris had a lot of acting, or rather, training, to make the

04:49replies that she did.

04:51You know, they were very rehearsed.

04:53And I'm inclined to think she was even asked the questions by the same moderators beforehand.

05:01In other words, what's the first time she saw those moderators?

05:04I'm pretty sure of that.

05:06It's very unfair, very crooked.

05:09The whole thing, very crooked.

05:10The other thing that I noticed is that she's wearing the new audio earrings, which you

05:15can buy.

05:16I saw that.

05:17I saw that on the internet.

05:19There was a little meme about it.

05:21They showed the shop.

05:22Yeah.

05:23They have the antenna and everything.

05:25Yes.

05:26Yeah, I've seen them.

05:27I've seen them before.

05:28You know, it's a hearing aid.

05:33You know, they can talk to her.

05:35She was, how do you call it, helped through the whole thing with a bit of prompting, I

05:42imagine.

05:43And on the other hand, I mean, on top of that, as a woman, she spoke all right.

05:48But let me put it like this.

05:51There are volumes written about men having an argument with a woman, or trying to argue

05:58with a woman.

06:00And the bottom line is this.

06:02Men have an innate desire to make sense with their argument, whereas women have no such

06:09desire.

06:11And that's the bottom line of all arguments between a man and a woman.

06:15It's simple.

06:17Men have a desire, a strong desire to make sense.

06:21Women have no such desire.

06:23But at any rate, I thought it was all right.

06:26I think, clearly, from my point of view, as a businessman, and knowing the background

06:32of this woman and everything, and knowing that it was all rehearsed and so on, obviously,

06:37it didn't do anything to move me in terms of who I would rather see in government.

06:44And that is, I'd like to see this new Republic Party in power there, for certain.

06:52I mean, to get rid of all the people that are homeless, and stop all this incredible

06:57mess that's going on all around the world, in America and all around the world.

07:03We follow the United States.

07:05And we also know here that if Donald Trump gets in, in South Africa, it will lift us

07:11as well.

07:12You see, we know that.

07:13We know that it will lift us out of, you could say, almost depression or recession.

07:20It is very interesting.

07:21I'm very keen to have a look at that.

07:22You raise a very interesting point about the earrings.

07:25I've seen this reported online together with photos.

07:28There are pictures of, apparently, you can receive little earrings, little antenna and

07:32things like that.

07:33You can receive messages.

07:34Definitely.

07:35There's no doubt about it.

07:36There's absolutely no doubt about it.

07:37They are the earrings that you use for that purpose.

07:41It's not maybe.

07:42It's definitely.

07:43No question about it.

07:46It's amazing to me that these earrings, people know about them.

07:51They blatantly didn't worry about it.

07:53They just didn't worry about it.

07:55It is extraordinary.

07:56Well, they should be looking into that.

07:58And I would, I always say, look, here on the Mug Breakers, our only mission is to find

08:02the truth.
