00:14Inspector General of Police Tanshree Razaruddin Hussain on Saturday said they are aware of
00:18what the company's executive said in a video about the allegations.
00:22He said the company is free to make any statement but the police will continue with their probe
00:26and ensure justice is done.
00:28In the video, the company's executive chairman, Datuk Nasiruddin Mohamad Ali, acknowledged
00:34that there were one or two isolated cases of sodomy at the care centers.
00:39But he asked not to generalize the community or link allegations involving it to human
00:44trafficking.
00:58Nasiruddin said his statement was aimed at calming the situation, and the company's
01:27lawyers will initiate the legal process.
01:30He added that the raids against the occupants were done in a hurried manner without adequate
01:34discussions with them.
01:36He said the authorities should have questioned the organization's leaders on how they cared
01:40for the occupants.
01:42On September 11th, police rescued 402 children, aged between 1 and 17, from 20 care homes
01:49in Selangor and Negri Simbilan.
01:51They detained 171 suspects, including a teacher and dorm caretakers.
