Intense conditions from Francine arrive in New Orleans hours after landfall

00:14Yeah, well just as you mentioned that landfall happened about two hours ago New Orleans though
00:19Just starting to see those strong effects from Hurricane Francine
00:24We are experiencing wind gusts 70 to 80 miles per hour here in this area
00:29We are live from Kenner, Louisiana. It is intense. I want to point your direction directly behind me here
00:35This is Lake Pontchartrain that wind is really just bringing the surf up over the rocks here
00:42It is intense to say the least as we are roving about this area my photographer Mike and I we have been moving
00:49Throughout this entire area. It is quiet
00:51There is no one left on the streets except for a few cars here and there but mainly it is police
00:58it is city officials that are out here making sure that people are staying hunkered down right now as we are starting to see those
01:06Intense winds really come through this area again landfall happening two hours ago
01:11But as you can see me in the thick of it right now
01:14New Orleans and the surrounding areas are feeling the impacts as Francine makes its way through this area again
01:21It's those major squalls that we are seeing the intense winds come through here Wow
