Fahmi reiterates govt's stance on online security following DNS rerouting issue

Online security remains a priority for the government, with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) tasked to investigate and develop more effective solutions following the recent Domain Name System (DNS) rerouting issue, said Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.  At the weekly post-Cabinet press conference on Wednesday (Sept 11), Fahmi, who also serves as government spokesman, emphasised that the government is fully committed to enhancing internet safety, particularly for vulnerable groups, and will not compromise on this priority. 02:07then several steps and decisions that are more comprehensive need to be made.

02:13And I have asked the MCMC to investigate and find a more effective solution.

02:27The investigation continues.

02:31Not only once, but since six months ago.
