00:00Welcome back to the Philippines. How has this homecoming helped you mentally? Do you feel rejuvenated?
00:06I'm tired. I'm very happy and very honored to be welcomed in such a way.
00:15Even though I don't necessarily feel that everything is well-deserved, at least for my end.
00:21So yeah, I'm very thankful, very blessed. Hopefully, yeah, I'll make something good out of it.
00:30How hungry is EJ at the end?
00:33I mean, for more.
00:39So, if me waking up in the middle of the night seeing Emmanuel jump, does it tell you the story?
00:51I don't know how I can tell you how hungry I am.
00:54Dude, it's been a rough year. I'm gonna be back.
00:57I know I'm gonna do everything I can. I don't join these big competitions to participate, but I'm trying to win.
01:08It's been a rough year.
01:11Earlier, when you were asked about the LA Olympics, you said you were targeting first the World Championships next year.
01:17So, can you just please expound on the importance of attacking each tournament?
01:21Sorry?
01:23Can you expound on the importance of attacking each tournament, the importance of that mindset?
01:27Athletics is not a four-year thing. It's not just Olympics. It's not just that.
01:35We have a lot of competitions. We have world rankings. We have world championships. We have indoor and outdoor seasons.
01:41All of those things, if you really want to cement yourself as one of the best, you need to do all of that.
01:48You need to be competitive. And with that, I'm a very competitive person.
01:51I don't like losing my world number two spot to Sam. He's a good friend, but still, I want to be there or higher.
02:01I'm competitive. I aim for the next competition that would put me on that level.
02:06I don't know how to answer your question, to be honest, but it keeps you going, I guess.
