00:1117-year-old dancer Chris John Sanchez from Aurora Province

00:15is sure to make you groove to the dance.

00:18Not long ago, Chris John and his group, A-Kids,

00:23won the world champion in varsity division

00:26in the 2024 World Hip-Hop Dance Championship in Arizona, USA.

00:31Aside from his success in the competition,

00:34Chris John is also active in local competitions and events.

00:38He also shares dance trends on TikTok.

00:41He also has dance practice sessions with his uncle, Bill Bray.

00:46Let's talk to the dance enthusiast, Chris John Sanchez.

00:58Good morning and welcome, Chris John.

01:00Congratulations.

01:02Good evening.

01:04Alright, Chris John, how did you start dancing?

01:07And who was your first inspiration?

01:11I started dancing when I was just three years old.

01:15I learned how to dance by watching a lot of videos.

01:20I just watched videos on my uncle's phone and on TV.

01:26That's how I got the inspiration to start and learn how to dance.

01:33Chris John, congratulations again for winning the 2024 World Hip-Hop Dance Championship.

01:40Tell us about your journey. Go ahead.

01:44The journey of HHI was not easy.

01:50We went through a lot of struggles.

01:55We had to sacrifice a lot of time and effort to get to the competition that we fought for.

02:05And of course, because you are part of this group,

02:09you are still studying.

02:10If I understand correctly, you are in Grade 12.

02:14So, how did you manage to be a teacher and a student at the same time?

02:21I was able to do this because of time management and dedication to what I do.

02:28Because of time management, I was able to dance and study at the same time.

02:35I didn't have to worry about schoolwork or anything related to school and dancing.

02:44How are your parents? Are they very supportive?

02:48Yes, my parents are very supportive.

02:51My entire family, especially my uncle, helped me in this journey.

02:58Chris John, I'm sure there are a lot of people like you who want to achieve whatever you have now.

03:03What is your message to everyone who wants to be a world champion when it comes to dancing?

03:13Just do what you want with love and dedication.

03:18You have to do it with your heart.

03:21You have to be determined in what you do.

03:28Do you have anything to thank for?

03:30I'm sure there are a lot of reasons why you are here today.

03:41First of all, I would like to thank God for all of his guidance.
