01:26The Azov Brigade said they had held their position against Russian attacks in New York,

01:30a Ukrainian settlement in Donetsk.

01:33They claim to have regained control of part of the settlement despite what they previously

01:38described as a catastrophic situation.

01:46Volodymyr Zelensky has said Ukrainians have no choice to fight and defend our lives more

01:51than two years after Russia invaded the country.

01:54Speaking to Italian business representatives at the Chernobyl Forum at Lake Como, Zelensky

01:59said Ukrainians want this war to end more than anyone else in the world.

02:04Zelensky continued to stress Ukraine's need for faster delivery of long-range weapons

02:09from international partners, and again appealed for permission to strike deeper into Russia,

02:14insisting that Ukraine only intended to target military airfields.

02:33In a post on X, Zelensky thanked Italy for working with Kiev to implement the Ukraine

02:38peace formula, a 10-point proposal to end the war unveiled by Zelensky in November 2022.

02:45Zelensky is expected to hold talks with Italy's Prime Minister Giorgio Maloney on Saturday.

02:55Thousands of people took to the streets across France to protest President Emmanuel Macron's

03:01decision to appoint center-right politician Michel Barnier as prime minister.

03:08Left-wing parties are accusing Macron of ignoring the results of the recent legislative elections

03:14after he refused to pick the candidate of the new Popular Front alliance which came

03:19out on top in the July vote.

03:23Barnier has emphasized the importance of health care reform, particularly improving access

03:28to care and addressing the issue of medical deserts in both urban and rural areas.

03:36Protests against what is seen by demonstrators as a presidential power grab were set to take

03:41place in more than 150 cities across France.

03:46The demonstrations were organized by the France Unbowed group as well as several student unions.

03:54Libya's coastguard on Friday returned a boat carrying 64 migrants to Syrte, the town they

04:00had just set off from.

04:01On Wednesday, the Italian coastguard released this dramatic video of them rescuing nine

04:06migrants after their boat capsized off the island of Lampedusa.

04:10They also recovered a body of one of the migrants.

04:14The boat had set off from Libya with 32 people on board from Egypt and Syria.

04:19By the time of the rescue, 22 were already missing, presumed drowned when the boat capsized.

04:25According to the International Organization of Migration, nearly 67,000 migrants have

04:30gone missing in the Mediterranean in the past 10 years.

04:34They are presumed to have perished in the sea as they tried desperately to reach Europe.

04:39So far this year, 43,000 migrants have reached Italy, far fewer than the previous year when

04:45around 20,000 arrived in just one month alone in August.
