Two toddlers dead after being left in a hot car in Oklahoma

According to "Kids and Car Safety," 29 children have died in hot cars across the U.S. so far in 2024.

00:00Oklahoma police are investigating after two children died from being left unattended in

00:05a hot car on Thursday.

00:08This happened in the town of Norman, where police say family members accidentally left

00:12the toddlers in the vehicle for an extended period of time.

00:15Child Advocacy Group Kids in Car Safety says that there are the 28th and now 29th children

00:22to die in a hot car nationwide this year, and they're the first two to pass away for

00:27this reason in Oklahoma this year.

00:30Very sad news there, and we are going to continue to deal with certainly temperatures that are

00:36warm enough to have these horrible things happen.

00:40Sometimes they can happen with outdoor temperatures only around 70 degrees.

00:43It doesn't have to be that hot outside for the inside of your car to heat up to extremely

00:48dangerous levels.
