00:10As of March 2024, around 117,000 students have been granted UK visas, but those numbers

00:18might change soon.

00:20The University of Southampton is setting up its first base in India, with a Delhi NCR

00:25campus set to deliver premier education, research, knowledge exchange and entrepreneurship activity

00:31in the country.

00:33Professor Andrew Atherton, Vice President, International and Engagement, stated,

00:39The campus will be the same as all other University of Southampton campuses in terms of experience,

00:45activities and status.

00:48Moreover, India's Higher Education Regulator, the University Grants Commission, also known

00:54as UGC, has confirmed that the first academic session will likely begin in July 2025, and

01:02the campus will hire faculty from both India and abroad.
