00:00This is Botwnog, a townhouse on the outskirts of Llyn.

00:04How do you describe Botwnog? It's a lovely townhouse.

00:07It's a good townhouse. Everyone agrees with me.

00:11The language, the community and the work...

00:14..are crucial to the way of life.

00:16But in the heart of the townhouse...

00:18..this is the language that's destined to thrive...

00:21..with developers wanting to improve one of these two methods...

00:25..so that the community doesn't need it...

00:27..and more importantly, doesn't need it.

00:29Do you own this place? Yes.

00:31You've been here for a long time?

00:33Having lived here for a long time...

01:33..it's clear that there's a need...

01:35..but a lack of importance.

01:37It's a challenge to create a lot of houses...

01:40..for two people.

01:41But they're a massive task.

01:43You need the right place to rent it.

01:45This is the best place to rent it.

01:47There's a cafe, a school and a small pub.

01:50But there will be problems...

01:52..with so many people in a small area.

01:54The community is asking to define...

01:56..what exactly is a house for local people?

01:58You have to look at the Welsh policy...

02:01..in the local development plan...

02:03..saying that local people include people who want a house...

02:07..in the whole area.

02:09Not people who live alone...

02:11..and people who live in that area.

02:13If it's taken into account...

02:15..this house would be worth £2.

02:17But the community council's decision...

02:20..is a sign of a long battle.

02:22There's a need for two houses across the area...

02:25..and even if you live in one place...

02:27..there's a need for more development.

02:29It's not great really...

02:31..because we have a bit of a problem with sewage...

02:34..already in the area.

02:36Our house is right here...

02:38..and the house will be behind us...

02:41..so there will be privacy.

02:43I've been trying to get a house of my own...

02:46..and I managed to get it through Taitech in the end.

02:50But the process was really difficult.

02:52There will be a decision on the length of the plan...

02:55..when a letter from the community council will be sent.

02:58But because of the importance of the need for two houses...

03:01..and the fact that only one house is available...

03:04..it will continue.
