00:00I understand that it started a lot of conversations and he was one of many collaborators that I
00:06collaborated with but the reality is it comes from me. Katy Perry answered the question many
00:12fans have asked her since she dropped Woman's World and they saw who was credited as a songwriter and
00:17producer on the track. I know a lot of people have expressed disappointment and were really upset
00:28that you decided to involve Dr. Luke on this album. Why did you choose to work with him?
00:34The truth is I wrote these songs from my experience of my whole life going through
00:38this metamorphosis. Most of the flack Katy received was because she chose to work with
00:42Dr. Luke on at least five tracks off her new album 143 after Kesha brought a sexual assault
00:47lawsuit against the producer back in 2014 but she denied and countersued for defamation.
00:52They ended up settling outside of court in 2023. He was one of the people to help facilitate all
00:58that one of the writers one of the producers. While Katy didn't say why she chose to work with
01:02Luke specifically on the Call Her Daddy podcast she ended her statement with this. I created all
01:08of this with several different collaborators people that I've collaborated with from the past
