00:00My thoughts? I'm very happy to win again in two sets. I think it was a very tricky tough match.
00:12I was actually a little bit nervous today. I don't even know why, but it was kind of a weird match.
00:20I had a weird feeling in my body the whole match, but yeah, I'm glad that I won.
00:28Thank you. Questions? English? Bill, start off.
00:34Hi, congratulations. A year and a half or so ago when you were having great results in France, you said,
00:43talking about your game, you said, I don't like to be like anyone else. It's the type of game that I believe in.
00:52Can you just talk about your own feeling about your own game, how it's unique and what you like about it?
01:01I can't tell if it's unique, but yeah, I just like to change it up. I like to do what I do.
01:15Basically going to the net and actually play a game, have more fun, not just grind back and play forehands, backhands.
01:26That's how I as well see the game, how I like to play it. It's the things that I like to as well improve in the practices
01:35and then bring it on the court.
01:38You're usually very understated. You don't share a lot.
01:43What are the emotions that you're feeling about continually advancing deep in majors?
01:49I'm very happy. I'm really very happy. Again, it's what I said before. I don't know.
01:58I was today even nervous and I felt as well in the first games that I was going backwards with the shots.
02:06It doesn't happen much to me, so I was a little bit surprised about that, but yeah, it's important for me.
02:13I knew it's an important match and I just wanted to do good, so maybe it's all of these feelings about that.
02:20But yeah, now after a match I'm just very happy to be in quarters here.
02:25You have a possible opponent in the next round, one that you haven't played at all and one you've played a few times.
02:33Taking each one separately, if you play against Wozniacki, what are your thoughts about her game,
02:39what she's done and the matchup?
02:42Yeah, as you said, we never played, so I don't know much.
02:45I know she's been world number one. She's playing very great game, good strokes.
02:53She doesn't miss much, so for sure very tough match.
02:57And against BIA we played, I think, last year, I guess as well.
03:02Maybe we played in Cincinnati, very tough battle, three sets.
03:06She's a big fighter, lefty, both very, very tough opponents.
03:13So let the battle win and then let's see how I'm going to approach that match.
03:20Congratulations.
03:22You're a very tactical player and I was wondering if you are good at using data
03:28or you like to analyze your next opponent.
03:31And how do you see the progress of using this data in women's tennis?
03:39I think it's great, but I don't use it much.
03:44I just usually just look at the matches that they played at that tournament
03:50and maybe to see a few things.
03:54But I think these days and against these opponents and girls,
03:59it's tough to find any weakness.
04:04Yeah, every day is different.
04:06And so I try to be in that game and spot in the first few games
04:11what could work as well and then bring it right away on the court.
04:16And I'd say I still play a lot with how I feel on the court
04:21and what I feel to play.
04:22So tactically, yeah, but then when the match is progressing,
04:27I'm just trying to play by feeling, actually.
04:32One more. Bill, go ahead.
04:33If I could ask, what do you like most about the United States?
04:39And secondly, if you could go out to dinner with anyone in tennis
04:44outside of your family and team?
04:47In tennis?
04:48In tennis, yes.
04:52Would I go to dinner?
04:56I don't know.
04:58Probably someone, it has to be like active player?
05:01No, does not have to be.
05:03It's tough to pick one.
05:05I'll pick for sure someone like probably a Roger or Rafa or Djokovic
05:14and try to get some inside info and some stuff.
05:19They want so many majors and stuff like that.
05:21So from the point of view tennis-wise, I'll pick them probably.
05:29And United States, well, I just, now we are in New York
05:35and I already talked about it.
05:37I really like the city and all that it brings.
05:42So just, yeah, I always feel good when I'm here, so that's nice.
05:50It's a lot of things to like about.
05:52Willie, last question.
05:54Yesterday Emma Navarro was asked if she had the belief
05:57even before the tournament that she could win the tournament,
06:00and she said yes.
06:02She did then, she believes it now.
06:04What sort of belief do you have in your game
06:07and the possibility to win the tournament?
06:12I'm not really thinking about winning a tournament.
06:15I came to the tournament in a different position, I would say.
06:19Not that many matches played.
06:21It was my second tournament on the hard court.
06:24But now playing a few matches, I feel like I'm building up the game.
06:29I feel better each day on court.
06:31So I'm just thinking about the match I'm going to play
06:37and trying to be prepared as best as possible.
06:40And then we'll see how far I can go.
06:43I'm in quarters and I'm really grateful for that, and we'll see.
