00:43So, Fadi, our friend, who was injured on July 24, 2022, he came to us in the afternoon of July 27, after being airlifted.
00:57And after doing all the examination, it was found that he had a fracture of L1 level and spinal injury due to which he had paralysis in the lower part of the body and in both the legs.
01:12And this was his complete injury, that is, even after 60 hours of injury, he did not have any sensation in his legs, especially around the fracture, there was no contraction, so such injuries generally do not recover.
01:27But we discussed with him and because there is a chance of recovery in the coronary region, we decided to do the operation as soon as possible and the surgery was done that night.
01:42After the operation, he stayed with us for about 12 days in India, then he went to Austria and followed the treatment.
01:50But here in India, the recovery had started and gradually he recovered.
01:56Today he is able to walk with the help of crutches and because he is recovering, we hope that he will continue to recover gradually.
02:04So this is a good example that if there is timely management, comprehensive rehabilitation, comprehensive management, then such patients can be recovered well and come back to normal.
02:17So when this injury occurs, it affects the control of urine and stool and also affects the sexual function.
02:22And because these are terminal fibres, their recovery happens later.
02:28So if the recovery is happening, then we wait until the bowel, bladder, sexual management is told how to manage it.
02:40But even if there is no recovery, then how to train the bowel, bladder so that it does not interfere in their normal lifestyle.
02:51And there is also sexual rehabilitation through which they can come back to a normal sexual life.
