Whenever it's sour cherry season, I absolutely must bake a sour cherry cake for the afternoon snack. The combination of the tartness of the cherries with the sweetness of the cake creates a heavenly mix. I baked this cake in the traditional rustic way, "Sar Tash, Bon Tash" (heated from both the top and the bottom).
