Liverpool are considering a move for Juventus Italy winger Federico Chiesa.

The 26 year old attacker has been deemed surplus to requirements by Juva manager Thiago Mota, who took charge earlier this summer.

Key Essa, part of Italy's EUR 24 squad, has one year left on his contract.

He was not named in the squad for Mata's first league game against Como and was also absent against Verona on Monday.

Liverpool sporting director said the club would be opportunistic if we can when it came to signings.

The Reds have shown exploratory interest in several players and it is understood the interest in Chiesa has not gone further.

Liverpool are closing in on a deal for Valencia goalkeeper Georgi Mamardashvili but have yet to make a signing this summer.

Kiesa joined Juventus from Fiorentina in 2020 for up to £54 million.

He has played 131 times for the club and was part of Italy's EUR 2020 winning squad, but form and injuries have limited his appearances recently.
