00:00Hi guys, welcome to my youtube channel.
00:03Today we are going to discuss second type of addition of fractions.
00:08That how to add fractions of second type.
00:11First type was with like denominator, mean fractions which have same denominator.
00:18And today in second type we have the fractions with unlike or different denominator.
00:24As you know that the number above the bar is called numerator and the number below the
00:29bar is called denominator.
00:31So here as you can see that we have two fractions which are to be added.
00:36We have 2 over 3 plus 7 over 9.
00:40So here you can see that one denominator is 3 and second is 9.
00:44So we have different denominators.
00:47So let's start.
00:48Method is very simple.
00:50Simply if you want to add the fractions.
00:52As you know that whenever we have same denominators it is very easy to add them.
00:57So our first target is we have to make these denominators equal.
01:01So first of all you have to rewrite these given fractions which are to be added.
01:05So simply you have to find the smaller number.
01:08So we have here smaller number 3.
01:11And with the help of 3 we have to make it 9.
01:15Because second denominator is 9.
01:17So what number should be multiplied by 3 that we can get 9.
01:21So simply we can multiply 3 by 3 so we can get 9.
01:27So as we have multiplied denominator with 3.
01:29So we must have to multiply denominator by 3.
01:33So you have to multiply below the bar and above the bar with same number.
01:37So we will get 2 3's are 6.
01:41And now you can see that 3 3's are 9.
01:43So these denominators are equal now.
01:46And you can add them very easily.
01:49Simply you have to write a fraction.
01:51And in the denominator we have to write same denominator which are 9.
01:54So you have to write 9 below the bar.
01:57And you have to simply add 6 and 7.
01:59You can write here 6 plus 7 or you can directly add them 6 plus 7 we will get 13.
02:06So you can write here 6 plus 7 or you can add them directly 6 plus 7 is equal to 13.
02:12So you can write here 13 by 9.
02:15So then you have to check that we have to simplify this fraction or not.
02:19So here we have no common factors in these both number 13 and 9.
02:23So you have to write it as it is.
02:26So we have answer 13 by 9 when we have given fraction 2 over 3 plus 7 by 9.
02:32I hope so you got the idea that how to add fractions with different denominators simply
02:37by making them equal.
02:40Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe my channel.
