The Franco-Russian billionaire is wanted on charges of allowing drug dealers and sex criminals to operate on the app, according to French media.

00:00The founder of messaging app Telegram has been arrested in France.
00:04Pavel Durov was arrested Saturday evening at the Le Bourget airport outside Paris.
00:10The arrest follows an investigation into the lack of moderators on Telegram,
00:15which police allege allows criminal activities to take place unhindered on the messaging app.
00:20Russian-born Durov founded Telegram in 2013.
00:24He left Russia a year later after refusing to comply with government demands
00:29to shut down opposition communities on one of his platforms.
