00:03Prophet Ibrahim Alayhi Salaam was born in a family of idol worshippers
00:07But he understood from a very young age that there is no God worthy of worship, but Allah
00:14He always obeyed Allah's commands
00:18One day Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala ordered him to take his wife Bibi Hajra and his son Ismail to Mecca
00:26At the time Mecca was only a barren land there were no trees water or even people
00:34Prophet Ibrahim Alayhi Salaam left some dates and water and prepared to leave
00:39When Bibi Hajra realized this she was alarmed as the land was so barren
00:45She wondered how she and her baby Ismail would survive
00:49She tried to persuade Prophet Ibrahim Alayhi Salaam to change his mind, but he remained quiet
00:55Finally as he walked away Bibi Hajra called out. Did Allah send you his command to leave us here?
01:01Yes, answered the Prophet Ibrahim Alayhi Salaam
01:04Bibi Hajra felt comforted
01:06She placed her trust in Allah and said in that case Allah will definitely protect and take care of us
01:13He would never neglect us
01:15Bibi Hajra suckled Ismail and survived on the dates and water left by Prophet Ibrahim Alayhi Salaam
01:21But eventually the dates and water ran out
01:25Soon, both Bibi Hajra and Ismail were thirsty
01:28She could not feed Ismail as she could not produce any more milk
01:32She knew she had to go out looking for water
01:35She left Ismail on the ground and ran between the two hills of Safa and Marwa to look for water
01:43She ran between the two hills for seven times
01:46But Bibi Hajra did not find any water and Ismail was crying non-stop as he was hungry and thirsty
01:53In this fretful state Ismail was kicking the ground and suddenly Bibi Hajra noticed water flowing from the spot
02:01Ismail was kicking
02:04Carefully she collected some water for herself and was soon able to feed Ismail
02:09It was the blessed water of Zamzam and it has not stopped flowing since
02:16Water is a source of life and after Makkah had water people began to come and live there
02:22Soon Makkah became an important city because people from all over came to settle there
