00:09Concise History of Islam
00:13Islam is one of the world's major religions.
00:16According to Islamic literature,
00:18Islam is believed to have started at the very beginning of human history.
00:23Muslims believed that Islam was the original religion taught by all the prophets,
00:30starting with Adam, the first prophet.
00:33However, it was established as a distinct religion in the early 7th century,
00:39when the Prophet Muhammad,
00:41started receiving revelations from Allah.
00:45These revelations are seen as the final and complete guidance for all of humanity,
00:51building upon the teachings of earlier prophets like Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa.
00:58The Prophets Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
01:03Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam was born in the city of Mecca,
01:07present-day Saudi Arabia in 570 CE.
01:11He grew up as an honest, truthful, and trustworthy person,
01:15earning the nickname As-Sadiq Al-Amin,
01:18which means the truthful and trustworthy.
01:21At the age of 40, while he was praying in a cave on a mountain called Hira,
01:26he received the first revelation from Allah SWT through Angel Jibreel.
01:32This event marked the beginning of his prophethood.
01:35Over the next 23 years, he continued to receive revelations,
01:40which were later collected into the Quran, the holy book of Islam.
01:45The Message of Islam
01:50The central message that Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam was given to share with the world
01:56is that there is only one God, Allah SWT, and that people should worship Him alone.
02:01Islam teaches that all the prophets, including Adam, Noah, Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa,
02:09were sent by Allah SWT to guide people to the right path.
02:14Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is the final messenger,
02:17and Quran is the last and complete message from Allah SWT.
02:23The Five Pillars of Islam
02:27Islam is built on five key practices, known as the five pillars.
02:32These are Shahada, Salat, Saum, Raqab, and Hajj.
02:44The Spread of Islam
02:48After receiving the message of Islam, Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
02:53began to preach it to the people of Makkah.
02:57Makkah was mainly occupied by Quraysh tribe at that time,
03:01who used to worship many gods and idols.
03:05At first, only a few people accepted the new religion,
03:08and these early Muslims faced a lot of difficulties and punishments.
03:12To escape this, Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
03:15and his followers moved to a city called Medina in 622 CE.
03:21This journey is known as the Hijrah and marks the beginning of the Islamic calendar.
03:27In Medina, Islam grew rapidly, and many people embraced the new faith.
03:33Muslims established their first state in Medina based on the Islamic principles.
03:39Different religions and tribes lived under this new state.
03:43Muslims and Quraysh had three main battles.
03:46Between them, before the Muslims finally conquered the city of Makkah in 8 Hijri, 630 CE,
03:53without any bloodshed.
03:56On the return of Holy Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam to Makkah,
04:01all the tribes accepted Islam.
04:03When the Holy Prophet passed away in 632 AD, much of the Arabian region had become Muslim.
04:18After the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam passed away,
04:21his close friend and companion Abu Bakr Siddiq R.A. was chosen as the first Caliph of Islam.
04:30Caliph Umar, Uthman, and Ali R.A. succeeded him respectively.
04:36They continued to spread Islam beyond Arabia.
04:40Within a few decades, Islam had spread across the Middle East, North Africa, and parts of Europe and Asia.

04:49Islam is more than a religion.
04:51It is a way of life.
04:53It teaches people to worship only one God, that is Allah SWT.
04:58Islam teaches us to be kind, honest, and just, and live in peace with others.
05:06By following the teachings of Islam and example of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam,
05:11we can live good lives and achieve success in this world and hereafter.
