00:00I am here in ISRO for last 38 years. The main difference I am seeing in the approach of ISRO
00:08is that earlier what we do, how we do was not really known to anybody. Only the outcome of
00:14that as a service was made available to the concerned departments or public whatever it is.
00:21So it was only concentrating only on the outcome. But nowadays what we are seeing is that
00:26not only the outcome is essential that what we are doing also should reach public. It should
00:34be known to public. That is the change I am seeing in the recent years. Actually Chandrayaan
00:413 we had planned that Prime Minister should be here at the time of landing and unfortunately
00:50at that time the G20 meeting was scheduled at South Africa. He could not miss that and come.
00:59But he did promise to chairman that he will at least be available via video conferencing.
01:07He was supposed to be there only for the final 3-4 minutes. So we were supposed to give a queue. We
01:13have to give a queue so that he will come and join the video conference. But actually he joined
01:18half an hour before that. He did not wait for us to give a queue and he was there holding the
01:24tricolour waving at when it landed and chairman ISRO announced that we are successful and India
01:34is on moon. So immediately he did not even wait for chairman to announce. He was clapping and
01:43waving the flag and when it was time for him to speak he appreciated everybody's effort
01:54for achieving this and apologised for not being with us in person and he said that
02:00available earliest opportunity he will come and meet us in person. He did come on 26th early
02:08morning. He came to the control centre. He was supposed to come at around 6 o'clock in the
02:16morning and as per protocol everybody has to be inside the campus at least 2 hours before.
02:24So all our people came in at 4 o'clock and we were all waiting. This time when he was talking
02:31he was a bit emotional also. He was actually apologising telling that he gave trouble to us
02:41by making us come early morning at 4 o'clock and thanking all of us for being there and
02:49appreciated the effort. He was very clear that we have to involve
02:59people other than government agencies in the space activities.
03:04That is what finally resulted in the space sector reforms also.
