00:00Welcome back everyone it is Amelia I hope you are fine.
00:09Marvel Studios still developing the Blade reboot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe,
00:14Bahushala Ali Sattorni comments on the continuous creative shakeups.
00:18Despite several new heroes having joined the MCU movie timeline over the last few years,
00:24Marvel Studios is currently in a rare situation where they are struggling with bringing to
00:28life one of their announced characters.
00:30The Blade reboot, which will star Ali as the titular hero, has already taken almost half
00:36a decade to get to the filming stage since it was announced five years ago.
00:40In a new feature piece on entertainment lawyers by The Hollywood Reporter, Ali Sattorni, shell
00:45by Weezer, briefly mentioned the Blade movie with her client.
00:49While keeping it brief, Weezer opened up about how the situation with the Blade reboot is
00:54the craziest thing she has experienced in her career after being announced at San Diego
00:59Comic-Con 2019 during Marvel Studios' Hall H presentation.
01:04No one was prepared for just how many roadblocks they would run into with the Blade film.
01:09Since the COVID-19 pandemic struck the whole world in 2020, a definitive release date was
01:15never given as the industry was put on pause.
01:18It wouldn't be until February 2021, when watchman Stacey Osekafer was tapped to write
01:24the Blade reboot, that a significant progression was announced.
01:27While Bassam Tariq was attached to direct Blade in September 2021, he departed the reboot
01:33due to the many production changes and internal creative differences at Marvel Studios about
01:39Ali's MCU project.
01:40With Marvel Studios also not happy with the drafts, the project got retooled when they
01:45tapped a new Blade writer and director in November 2022 with Michael Starbery and Jan
01:51Dominguez, respectively.
01:52However, the Blade script seemingly didn't get anywhere closer to being finalized as
01:57Anaisi Pizzolatto and Michael Green were hired in April and November 2023, respectively,
02:04to craft new drafts.
02:05Even though it was said to be amicable, Dominguez exited Blade in June 2024, followed by the
02:12report that MCU scribe Eric Pearson, the Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts asterisk, Black
02:17Widow, and Thor, Ragnarok, is now the latest writer to tackle the script.
02:22It's unclear exactly what it was about the previous Blade scripts that Marvel Studios
02:26weren't happy about, but it's becoming evident that despite all of these delays, they really
02:31want to get the iconic Marvel hero into the MCU through his own solo film.
02:36For now, time will tell who will end up directing Blade and whether the film is still arriving
02:40in November 2025.
