00:00Welcome back everyone it is Amelia I hope you are fine.
00:09The Boys Season 4, Episode 7 is titled, The Insider, a word that works on multiple levels
00:15throughout the episode.
00:16Atrein has been acting as a spy on behalf of Yugi and Mother's Milk throughout the
00:21season, finally revealing his cards when he stops the Deep and Noir from killing Butcher
00:26and Annie.
00:27Meanwhile, Annie herself has been replaced by an insider in the form of a shapeshifter
00:31hired by Sage.
00:33But perhaps most frightening of all is Kessler's voice inside Butcher's head, played by Geoffrey
00:38Dean Morgan, telling him a super genocide is a better option than any possible compromise.
00:43The Insider is directed by Catriona Mackenzie, whose current work on The Boys is far from
00:49her sole television credit.
00:51Since her celebrated independent movie Satellite Boy in 2012, which she wrote and directed,
00:57she has helmed episodes of several popular TV series.
01:00Her genre abilities have been well-established in episodes of Echo and The Walking Dead,
01:05and she's certain to expand on that with Outer Range Season 2.
01:09But she's also showcased her deft understanding of character development in projects such
01:13as Shining Veil and Alaska Daily.
01:16The Boys Season 4 Episode 7 has its share fair of internal
01:19exploration, potentially best captured in The Deep's violent and tragic act against
01:25Ambrosius.
01:26The Boys just revealed Black Noir's unmasked audition for The Seven, and this hilarious
01:30clip adds even more depth to his Season 4 role.
01:33Black Noir has been an integral part of The Boys since the show began, and despite his
01:38death in Season 3, the character's story is far from over.
01:42Rather than Watt announcing his death, they chose to replace him with The Boys Season
01:464 introducing a new Black Noir.
01:49Although the original version was a silent killer, his replacement doesn't possess the
01:53same violent instincts, making the two iterations of the character completely different.
01:58Interestingly, Nathan Mitchell plays both the original and new Black Noir.
02:02The original version was only ever unmasked in a flashback scene where Fritzy Claven's
02:07Destine played the character, but Nathan Mitchell has been under the suit the rest
02:12of the time.
02:13Mitchell's new version of Black Noir has a completely different personality from the
02:17original, which highlights the actor's incredible versatility.
02:21This makes his seamless transition from a tragic yet deadly soup to an out-of-his-depth
02:26actor joining The Seven even more impressive.
02:28And with The Boys releasing the new Noir's hilarious audition, his Season 4 Black Noir's
02:33audition tape reveals more about the character, giving Mitchell's role more depth as Season
02:384 heads toward its conclusion.
02:41Given Nathan Mitchell's Black Noir finally removed his mask in The Boys Season 4 Episode
02:466, it seems as though the show plans on highlighting more of his personality and backstory, which
02:51his audition tape has already provided.
02:54The tape revealed that the new Noir had reservations about joining The Seven and didn't feel the
02:59role was right for him, however, he was enticed by the massive financial incentive What Was
03:04Offering alongside the fame that comes with it.
