This husky became such a menace with all his wild energy — so his mom moved them to the mountains so they could go skiing together all the time

00:00We're both very passionate about being in the snow.

00:09Look at that face, he's covered in snow.

00:15When we ski, we make eye contact and we just like know what each other is thinking.

00:21We get in this like flow state together that is unlike anything I've ever experienced.

00:28Yeah buddy!

00:33Why did you both start skiing in the first place?

00:36Loam came into my life after college.

00:40I was living in a city right outside of Boulder, Colorado.

00:45He was such a sweet puppy, but we hit eight months and I felt like I turned on the lights

00:52one morning and it was a completely different dog.

00:59He just became like the worst little menace you've ever met.

01:04I was doing everything in my power to wrangle him in, right, of like taking him to the dog

01:10park for an hour before work every morning, taking him for a walk at my lunch break and

01:15just like nothing was working.

01:17Then I got to a point where I was like, okay, we need to move to the mountains.

01:33He sees me putting on my snow pants.

01:35He starts yelling up a storm, jumping around, getting excited, trying to go outside.

01:43Then we load up and he pretty much leaps into the truck whenever he knows we're about to

01:48go skiing.

01:49I let him out of the truck while I gear up and he would just meow and pace until we're

01:55on the skin track.

01:57Once we get to the top, I say, you're gonna hate this.

02:03That's how I know he's ready to go.

02:12I think he loves the companionship that comes with it when he's making the eye contact,

02:16checking in with me, making sure we're on the same page.

02:20And him having that energy is what makes it the most fun for me.

02:25There's not that many activities where your dog gets to exert themselves and like have

02:29that free feeling.

02:35It's hard for me to imagine my life without Loam.

02:39So many people find this missing piece in another person and I found that in my dog.

02:45My life isn't just about taking care of me, it's about taking care of him and making sure

02:48that he has what he needs.

02:50I'm gonna give him the best life I can possibly give him every single day of his life.
