Cat tries to jump on top of cardboard box and regrets it im-meow-diately

Hilarious footage has surfaced of a clueless cat learning the classic lesson of never judging a book by its cover.

Shared by David, this comical clip features his pet cat confidently assuming that nothing could go wrong if he jumped on top of a cardboard box.

Much to his surprise, though, he falls straight through the surface and ends up inside the box.

The kitty takes a few moments to find his way out and then nonchalantly pretends as if nothing out of the ordinary happened.
