00:12In a prepared statement on Wednesday, the former prime minister reiterated that he had
00:17no intention of insulting the royal institutions and that his speech while campaigning in the
00:22Nengeri state by election was merely based on facts.
00:26However, he said some parties have spun his speech, including editing a video of it, with
00:32the intention to insinuate that he was insulting the 16th young Dipertuan Agong al-Sultan Abdullah
00:38Riayatuddin al-Mustafa Billah Shah and to incite the people to hate the royals.
00:44He also said in his statement to the police, he explained that those claims were untrue
00:49and that they were malicious.
00:52Among the documents handed over to the police, he said that included the 114 statutory declarations
00:58that had been handed over to Istana Negara on November 21, 2022, an additional statutory
01:05declaration that was handed over the day after, and a letter of acceptance of said documents
01:11by the king's senior private secretary, Colonel Retired Datuk Nazim Muhammad Alim.
01:17Alim was seen leaving the Malaysian Investment Development Authority building at 1pm.
01:22He did not speak to the media.
