12:48I cannot bear this separation, Kamala.
12:56Kamala, this physical separation is too much.
13:03That's why I repeatedly want to have intercourse.
13:08But even there our bodies get to meet only briefly.
13:14The depth of association is not much.
13:18So I now want to have you fully inside me.
13:22Tu mujhme sama jaaye.
13:25As the Sufis say.
13:30And he will go to her and teach her.
13:33Fana is a very high state of spiritual dissolution.
13:39Now is your time to reach fana, in love.
13:46And what greater end can you meet?
13:52Come, unite with the lover.
14:01Are you getting it?
14:04The tendency is just to have flesh.
14:08But a justification is invented.
14:11And then it is claimed that the action is coming from the justification.
14:17PAHLE POOT PACHE BHAI MAI
14:20When it happens in our homes, in our universe, then we don't find it strange.
14:25But if it starts happening in Prakriti, then you will see this kind of an oddity.
14:33The child is there and after the child is born, the mother is born.
14:39And then you will say, Oh my God, what Kalyug?
14:42The child is born and the mother is younger than the child.
14:50But that is happening every day in our personal universe.
14:53And we never find it odd.
14:58Getting it?
15:02Then CHELA KE GURU LA GAYE PAI
15:05If you start seeing that, then you will say, Oh, too bad.
15:15The guru is prostrating in front of the student.
15:18What is going on?
15:21Evil times.
15:23But that is happening all the time in man's universe.
15:29There is no teacher worth the name who has not prostrated in front of the disciples.
15:39The disciple prostrates externally.
15:42He will say, Oh, Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu.
15:45This is just physical, external, for namesake.
15:49It is the teacher who is actually prostrating in front of the disciple.
15:55Please listen to me.
15:58For a second, can you please give up your prejudices?
16:03Once in your life, can you please pay attention?
16:12But our eyes see only the external.
16:18And seeing the external, they are happy and satisfied.
16:21They will say all is well.
16:24All is as per course and order.
16:29The students are paying obeisance to the guru.
16:35This is what the eyes see.
16:37But what is really happening?
16:39The guru is all the time requesting the student, touching his feet,
16:52flattering him, nudging him,
17:00entertaining him.
17:08But that is not obvious.
17:13Just as what is obvious to the grass is not obvious to the cow.
17:29जलकी मच्री तरवरी ब्याही पकड़ बिलाई मुर्गे खाई
17:39बैलही डारी गूने घरे आई कूता कू ले गई बिलाई
17:45All these four instances refer to an upending of the normal order in Prakriti.
17:54The normal order has been inverted, upended.
18:01जलकी मच्री तरवरी ब्याही The fish in the water is residing and procreating on the treetops.
18:17पकड़ बिलाई मुर्गे खाई
18:23The cock has caught the cat and devoured it.
18:34बैलही डारी गूने घरे आई
18:43The material, the gunny sacks, बोरा, are leading the oxen as they are coming towards the house.
18:59So the cart is leading the bull.
19:10कूता कू ले गई बिलाई
19:13So the cat has now had its revenge.
19:24The cock or the hen took away the cat.
19:28So the brother cat took away the dog.
19:33Now Sher Singh is in danger because the dog too will have his day.
19:43As they say, each dog has his day.
19:51So the normal prakritic order is being shown to be reversed.
20:00When it is reversed there, then you say this is not proper.
20:03This is against Tao.
20:06This is against Rit.
20:15But when the same thing happens within man,
20:20then you do not find anything funny at all.
20:28In prakriti, the one who is supposed to be higher up in the food chain
20:38must consume the one who is lower down.
20:42And the reversal cannot happen.
20:45Inside man, that which is higher must lord over the lower.
20:50And the reversal must not happen, but it is always happening.
20:56The higher one must be given preference over the lower, but that rarely happens.
21:03The lower wins, the higher loses.
21:07Tendencies win, thought loses.
21:10Thought wins, discretion loses.
21:17Mind wins, Atma loses.
21:26Influence wins, intelligence loses.
21:36And Kabir Sahab, he is having a good time.
21:46Describing how we are.
21:49And even as he is very accurately describing how we are,
21:53he is also having fun at our expense.
21:57That's why, you know, I feel just like a fanboy in front of him.
22:10Who am I? A little fanboy.
22:15This utter flamboyance, this total carefree attitude.
22:26Where do you find God or Sanskrit or big words or scholarliness in this?
22:35Kuta ko le gayi bilai.
22:37And he has said everything.
22:39Such simplicity can come only from someone who has gone to the utter depth of it.
22:55So it is both strange and revealing that in the same session in which while answering
23:07Parameswari, I had to launch a broadside, a tirade against the greats.
23:17I feel honored to say that when it comes to Kabir Sahab, I am a fanboy.
23:38And now that you have said this, this is going to resonate for a while.
23:46Pahle poot pachhe bhai mai.
23:49So whenever somebody, anybody outside of me or maybe I come up with an argument to cover up
24:04an expression of what is essentially a vritti, this is what to be said.
24:10Pahle poot pachhe bhai mai.
24:20Thaada sher charaave gayi.
24:25Thaada sher charaave gayi.
24:29So the parents are fondly taking the little Chotu to school for admission.
24:42And from the car the two of them emerge and Chotu is walking in middle of both of them.
24:48One hand with Sher Singh, the other hand with Shirini Singh.
24:54And they are both professing their love to Chotu and saying now we are going to admit him in the school.
25:02Thaada sher charaave gayi.
25:07He is going to stay for a while.
25:13And obviously, chela ke guru lagay payi.
25:21I don't even need to remember this.
25:24I live this every moment.
25:36It's a good thing to put on a Facebook profile or a WhatsApp status or something.
25:41Chela ke guru lagay payi.
25:44Just to be reminded of how things really are.
25:49Eyes live in deception.
25:52This is how things really are.
25:55Can you please, please send me the report Anu?
25:58Chela ke guru lagay payi.
26:02Sixth reminder.
26:05And a cute smile.
26:13Chela ke guru lagay payi.
26:15Kaun guru kaun chela.
26:25Now.
26:28Tali kari saakha, upari kari mool, bahut bhaati jad lagay phool.
26:34This kanika comes actually from chapter 15 of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita.
26:45Chapter 15.
26:48Shri Krishna very vividly describes this world as the banyan tree with its roots to the sky.
27:08Maybe Kabir Saheb is quoting from the Gita.
27:13Maybe it is his own imagery.
27:20But it's interesting how these coincide and how the greats have always seen the world as an exercise in negativa.
27:36Negativa.
27:37That reminds me of negatives.
27:40You know, before the digital age, there used to be negatives in photography.
27:53And what was the characteristic of those negatives?
27:58Light was dark and dark was light.
28:02Light was dark and dark was light.
28:05Have you seen those negatives?
28:09So, it's a bit similar to negatives.
28:12That's how Shri Krishna has described it.
28:14That's also what Kabir Saheb means here.
28:23What works in this world doesn't work there.
28:32That's one way of looking at it.
28:33It's an exercise in negative.
28:36Secondly, the roots are up.
28:39The flowering is down.
28:41You are really coming from there.
28:43You are really coming from there.
28:45You are only flowering here.
28:47And even if you want to flower here, even if you want to blossom here,
28:51then you must first of all take care of the root which is upwards.
28:55If you do not take care of the roots, then you cannot prosper on the earth.
29:01If you do not take care of the sky, you cannot prosper on the earth.
29:14So, the flowers are there.
29:16The roots are flowering.
29:19But the roots are not where they are usually supposed to be.
29:24They are skywards.
29:27Skywards roots blossom.
29:38Those whose roots are in the earth,
29:48they will just shrivel and die down.
29:51Those who feel that they are rooted in the earth,
29:55those who feel that they belong to the earth,
30:01will meet no prosperity and no blossoming.
30:05Whereas those who feel, live, as if they come from there,
30:10as if they belong there, as if they are rooted there,
30:14they will rule the earth.
30:18Belong to the earth and you will be a beggar on the face of earth.
30:25Belong to the sky and you will rule the earth.
30:30The earth doesn't reward you for belonging to it.
30:34The earth rewards you for bringing the sky's message to it.
30:43You are like the sky's messenger to the earth.
30:50The messenger is greatly rewarded if he brings the message.
30:56If he brings the message,
30:59then he gets stuff, sweets, clothes, money, greetings, gratitude.
31:10But what if he starts living in the house to which he has brought the message?
31:16Then he is merely tolerated and after a time he is abused.
31:21His value does not lie in his existence.
31:24His value lies in the message that he brings.
31:30You too must live like the one coming from the sky
31:34and merely visiting the earth to deliver the message.
31:39If you are a visitor to the earth, you will be respected on the earth.
31:45If you live like a visitor, a mere visitor to the earth,
31:49then you will have great respect on the earth.
31:53But if you start living as if the earth is your home,
31:57then all you will get is neglect, abuse, disrespect, uprootedness.
32:04If you can know what has been said in these verses,
32:24then you have known the entire universe.
32:27That's what Kabir Sahib is saying.
32:31He plays with you.
32:33He challenges you, invites you and he says if you can figure out what has been said,
32:37then you will be somebody.
32:40So try, try, try.
32:43Here's the lollipop, now try.
32:47Come on, come on, jump over the hurdles.
32:50And there he is, standing behind all the hurdles,
32:53flashing the lollipop to you.
32:55Come, come, come, jump over.
32:58Don't be shy.
33:03And when you say, no, no, no, but these are just too high for me.
33:07I don't know what you mean by the cow, the grass, the lion, the fish,
33:15the ox, the dog, the tree.
33:18Too many things and too difficult for me.
33:21He says, one more.
33:24Not one word, but tribhuvan.
33:30Here is a third one as well.
33:33You can have three of these sweet things.
33:38Just come over, come over.
33:44And the fanboy says, okay, I'm coming.
33:51And he's not unfair, I duly do get my reward.
33:55Hmm?
34:01Acharya ji, going back to the previous verse,
34:05first and foremost, my gratitude to you
34:08for explaining such a surreal verse to all of us.
34:14And in that verse, Kabir sahib is saying that
34:18we're pretty much living surreal lives.
34:20We see that sometimes, we see the imagery
34:23and we're able to identify it.
34:26But then again, I'm back to the same old path
34:32of getting lost in the surreal images.
34:36How to distill my clarity and vision
34:43to kind of decipher that what is surreal and what is real.
34:49The surreal will give you suffering.
34:54Surreal will deceive you.
34:58Your own tears are the test.
35:03See what pushes you into needless conflict.
35:11Needless conflict.
35:16See what is it that promises and does not deliver.
35:21See what is it that appears smooth and shiny on the surface,
35:26but forbids any kind of deep probing.
35:35Hmm?
35:40Hmm?
35:45It's easy.
35:50The truth attaches no qualifications to itself.
35:54So, the truth has made it very easy for you.
35:58Where to find the truth?
36:01If it were to be found somewhere,
36:02it would have become difficult for you.
36:04You would have needed to go there and dig it out.
36:08Where to find it?
36:09Everywhere and nowhere.
36:11Easy.
36:14Where does the truth end?
36:15Nowhere.
36:16So, if something ends somewhere, it is false.
36:21If something is found only somewhere in particular, it is false.
36:28If something is having boundaries,
36:32if something changes with time,
36:36if something is a product of something,
36:39if something gives rise to something,
36:43if something is the opposite of something,
36:49the truth has made it very easy for you.
36:52Very easy.
36:54The fact is, in the world, stuff is difficult.
36:59Truth is the easiest.
37:03Easy, but not common.
37:10Commonly, it is very difficult.
37:13Actually, it is very easy.
37:19It is so easy that we miss it.
