00:00When I approached season two with the Rings of Power it felt very much like picking up

00:08right where we had left off.

00:10The focus of this season is Eregion and the relationship between Sauron and Celebrimbor.

00:19In many ways this was a chance for me to codify Sauron's theme because throughout season one

00:25Sauron's theme was always quoted contextually around the idea of Sauron, but now we're personifying that.

00:39When we were with Halbrand, you were hearing the Halbrand theme, which is actually the

00:45Sauron theme turned backwards.

00:47I thought, I wonder if some fans will figure it out, and I started getting tagged in things.

00:51Just a few.

00:52But I like to think that everybody else also subconsciously caught on to those similarities

00:57because that's the great thing about music, you don't have to analyze it, you feel it.

01:02I think all the crossroads converge as Galadriel faces Sauron.

01:08In many ways this was teed up by the first season and especially that season finale.

01:11We've been waiting for this fight and now I'm taking their two themes and really trying

01:19to let them clash.

01:30I love writing music for Middle-earth.

01:32I get to wake up every morning and write music that moves me, for stories that inspire me,

01:39and I look forward to where the story can go and I'm very excited.
