Alarming New Data: 75% of Workers Say AI is Hurting Productivity - Here's Why!
3 in 4 workers say AI reduced productivity and increased workloads according to a recent survey from freelancing platform UpWork. But what the reporting on this is not sharing is why. AI is fueling burnout, not reducing it. To turn the tide, workers and entrepreneurs need to take a different approach to understand the unspoken causes and solutions.
In this video, I dive deep into the productivity paradox and provide 4 simple future-orientated solutions for leveraging AI to its full capacity, while navigating the challenges.

00:003 in 4 workers say AI reduced productivity and increased workloads according to a recent
00:05Upwork survey.
00:07But what the reporting on this is not sharing is why.
00:11You see, there are three things you need to know that are essential to boosting productivity
00:16using AI.
00:17And four strategies you must deploy to create a business without limits, without experiencing
00:24a decrease in productivity in the AI era.
00:28I made the prediction that AI would decrease productivity in my new book, The Wolf is at
00:32the Door.

00:39your productivity, scan the QR code or click the link below.
00:43The fact is, we are fast entering an era where AI rookies are at risk of being replaced,
00:49where future makers are ready to rise.
00:52The difference between the two is understanding the dynamics of how AI is reshaping our work
00:57and the ability to foresee challenges that causes AI to stall productivity.
01:03The first reason AI reduces productivity is because it speeds up production time and the
01:08flow of information.
01:10Sounds great, but think about it.
01:12We've moved from waiting for a proposal a week or more to getting it in days, if not
01:17hours.
01:18Outreach emails that took hours to personalize and research can be done in seconds and fully
01:23automated.
01:24Overwhelming inboxes.
01:26Recent strategies that took days of research can be done in hours, if not fully automated
01:32and sent to your inbox by an AI agent daily.
01:36But the bottom line is, a human still needs to review and execute.
01:42We're starting to see the disconnects occurring that I predicted in my book.
01:45And that is, humans' cognitive ability to make decisions fast and review this tsunami
01:51of AI-generated content lags behind technology that doesn't need a day off.
01:59Workers are beginning to experience decision fatigue at an exponential rate due to this.
02:04We're experiencing cognitive overload.
02:07AI isn't the backlog.
02:09We are.
02:11The second reason AI reduces productivity is not using it to analyze and process this new
02:18influx of information, largely due to a lack of systems in place and a failure to understand
02:24AI fundamentals, such as establishing automated AI workflows and training models to reduce
02:31errors and review time.
02:33But listen closely, because here's something no one else is going to tell you.
02:37This is a double-edged sword.
02:39AI tools that summarize content often miss out on nuance.
02:45Your number one skill to stand out against a flood of AI-generated content are details
02:51that are inaccessible anywhere else, thereby increasing your potential to charge a premium
02:57and remain relevant.
02:59On one hand, we increase productivity with AI.
03:04On the other, we risk our competitive advantage.
03:08So how do you increase productivity using AI against the headwinds of these challenges?
03:14First, you nail the fundamentals.
03:17AI literacy is a must for ensuring you're using it to optimize every aspect of your
03:22workflow.
03:24One way you can test your AI skills is by taking the free AI quiz shared in the link
03:28below to help you identify what your knowledge gaps are and how to close them with a suite
03:34of free resources.
03:36The second is to treat AI like a team member.
03:40It's going to make mistakes, but if you're not training it effectively like I teach,
03:44it will waste your time and you will get frustrated.
03:48When you spend the time learning how to train it, just like you would an employee, you spend
03:53less time reviewing and making edits than if you took a haphazard approach, saving you
03:59both time and money.
04:01Third, you must identify the unintended consequences of being a user or having others using it
04:08to process your increased output, whether that be outreach emails, press releases, proposals
04:14and content.
04:16For example, the trend of using AI bots to fill out job applications has overwhelmed
04:20some companies.
04:22To combat this, AI is now reviewing the applications, or in one instance, a company shut down their
04:30online application process and went back to snail mail.
04:34To be successful and productive in business, you must possess the skill to get past the
04:40gatekeeper to get to the decision maker.
04:43The gatekeeper of today isn't a human anymore, it's fast becoming AI.
04:48If you're unaware of the unintended consequences, you'll become an AI rookie that risks being
04:54replaced.
04:55Fourth, it isn't just about learning how to use AI, it's also about your ability to manage
05:01your emotional state effectively as we undergo this change to ensure that you stay focused.
05:07I break this down in the free chapter that I'm giving you.
05:10You see, this influx of information triggers a state of hypervigilance by throwing us into
05:16a position of making high stakes decisions in rapid succession.
05:21Yet, we're not designed for this.
05:24Humans require time to incubate and formulate and consider all of the factors.
05:30AI, of course, can help you in the analysis of the decision making process, but your own
05:35intuition and experience still plays a key role as AI continues to hallucinate and combine
05:42fact with fiction.
05:45But the biggest impediment to using AI for superhuman productivity is people's inability
05:50to foresee these challenges and prepare for them head on, which is why we're seeing shocking
05:56survey results like this.
05:58We're now a year and a half intergenerative AI being widely available, and yet 99% of
06:04people still aren't prepared.
06:07Instead of elevating people to future makers, AI is turning people into rookies in a world
06:12that has changed, but they haven't.
06:15That's why there's three ways I can help you for free.
06:19The first, a free chapter from my book, The Wolf is at the Door, to understand these changes
06:24and why they're occurring.
06:26The second, through the free AI guides on marketing and prompt engineering.
06:31And the third, the free AI quiz to help you get a baseline of your AI literacy skills
06:37to help close the gap.
06:39Hit the link below to get started now, because change can be cruel if you don't keep up,
06:44and using AI does not guarantee you won't be replaced by it.
