00:35think is really important for him to get out of his comfort zone, go down to Texas, train

00:39with Ronnie, I think that's really important for him at this stage of his career, and he's

00:42still only 22 years old, I mean, he's got a new promotion, everyone's excited about

00:46him, he's excited, you know, he's got the right training camp, so these are big steps

00:50for him in his young career.

00:51Yeah, he says Ronnie Shields has taught me some defensive tactics, new combinations,

00:56the natural rotation of my body and what shot is coming based on my body position,

01:01challenging my mind, my IQ, so really, that's what you want to hear from a young fighter

01:07is challenge me to make me better, and that's why he's in with the fighter with twice as

01:13many fights, 42 compared to 19 for Vito and 231 professional rounds compared to 87.

01:21So, Laszlo Toth in here to test the young man who's growing into 154, nice right hand

01:28from Toth and then a body shot.

01:30Yeah, Toth is one of those guys, man, he's a world travel journeyman, he's super tough,

01:34rarely gets stopped, durable guy, but also tricky, we saw that in that right hand, that

01:38body shot that he landed a few moments ago.

02:05in 12 different countries before that, and I just can't say 12 countries, I gotta say

02:10he fought 20 times in Austria, 10 times in his native Hungary, 2 times in Slovakia, twice

02:15in Russia, one time in the UK, Belgium, Malaysia, South Africa, Germany, Romania, Spain, Ukraine,

02:21I mean, he's got a lot of stamps on that passport.

02:24World traveled road warrior.

02:25You can talk about the road warrior we have in our main event, this guy's been all around

02:31Europe and the world.

02:32Alright, nice body shot there from Malnicki once again.

02:34That's the beauty of the sport of boxing, isn't it, you got two guys that you can consider

02:38a road warrior, one's a world champion, one's a journeyman.

02:48Yeah, Malnicki's been really smart with the selection of his shots thus far, finding holes,

02:54but then back comes Toph, man, he landed some good shots there as well.

04:23All eyes are on him, and the reality is, he doesn't get the love from Mexican fans that

05:40shots in the middle, and speaking about all that experience, I mean, the guy does have

05:55He talked about growing into the weight class, how he feels very comfortable now as a 154-pounder,

06:10How about the stanky leg from Todd, who goes down, and his dad comes into the ring, and

06:16even though Laszlo Todd does not want the fight to be over, Senior says, I'm going to

06:22override you, and good decision.

06:24Look at his legs.

06:25His legs are still hurting.

06:26I mean, that was a great decision, you know, trainer, father, you know, very, very smart.

06:31He's still walking around the ring with stiff legs.

06:34I mean, that was a big shot.

06:36He was getting hurt, he was getting broken down.

06:39I'm not angry at that decision at all.

06:41No, absolutely.

06:42I mean, we always talk about no one knows you better than your father if he's your trainer,

06:48but sometimes they are the ones who put you out there thinking you can do something you're

06:53not capable of doing, and tonight, we have to take our hats off to Laszlo Todd, Senior,

06:59who saw what happened to his son, he saw the same damage done to his legs, and how he was

07:04reacting, and just made the perfect decision at the right time, didn't even think about

07:09it twice.

07:10No, he was already in the ring before he saw, you know, his son's legs, but he was absolutely

07:13right, because, I mean, he was walking back to the corner, stiff leg, he was very, very

07:17hurt, so great decision by his father and trainer.

07:22And, you know, Melnicki talked about giving Ronnie Shields credit.

07:27Anthony Carr, who is the brains behind the operation, and was with him day by day, he

07:32says, look, imagine moving to Houston four fights ago, and the first camp I do with Ronnie

07:39Shields, I get a hundred rounds of sparring with Jermell Charlo.

07:42For this camp, I got great work with Truck Simpson, and the sky's the limit for this

07:47young man, because he's got an attractive style, he understands who he is and what his

07:52potential is.

07:53Yeah, absolutely, I mean, and listen, a guy like Toph, you know, you see him, he's got

07:57eight losses, you're supposed to handle him, but the guy normally goes the distance, it's

08:00very difficult to stop, and to stop him in that way, in a dramatic fashion, I mean, that's

08:05a stamp and a statement made by Melnicki tonight.

08:08Let's take a look at how this fight came to a conclusion, because it was an impressive

08:15combination of punches, and obviously Melnicki's going to go check on his vanquished opponent,

08:20and Chris, break down how this fight ended for us.

08:23You know, it was really, break down is right, he's breaking down Toph all night, you know,

08:27you see him right there, he's trying to punch with him, throw that overhand right, I think

08:30it's going to be the left hook that was that final shot, yeah, those clubbing shots like

08:34that, I'm not sure if that landed on the ear or the temple, but, yeah, right in the temple,

08:39those kind of shots really take your legs away, and you saw the way he went down, balanced

08:45shot, tried to get up, but the legs did not recover, and that was a punch that Melnicki

08:50was working on, was landing throughout the night, but Toph was taking it up until that

08:55point.

08:56And you see his father stepped into the ring, and now that becomes a topic of discussion,

09:03because it may actually take away a knockout victory for Melnicki, because it turns into

09:07disqualification when someone steps into the ring.
