00:00Good afternoon. A bit of a disappointing summer's day to come for many of us as
00:05cloud and rain is spreading in from the south and west, already arriving into
00:09parts of south-western England, parts of Wales, northern England, Northern Ireland,
00:13Western Scotland already seeing that cloud build. Has been a bit of a brighter
00:17start across eastern areas of England but that will likely change as we head
00:20into this afternoon as this band of cloud and rain pushes north and eastward.
00:25So there's a risk of some quite heavy bursts in there as well, particularly
00:28across north-western areas, parts of Scotland, northern England. And across
00:32parts of western Wales, the south-west, there's going to be a lot of cloud around. If you're
00:35planning on heading to the coast it will be much more overcast. There's a greater
00:39chance of some drizzly rain here as well. Bit of a breeze too but despite all this
00:43rain and cloud, actually temperatures won't be suffering too badly. Still in
00:47the low 20s, high teens across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland but you
00:52really notice a muggy feel out there. It's going to get muggier as the day
00:55progresses and it'll likely stay quite muggy for some of us into this evening
00:59as well. With further outbreaks of rain, most persistent across parts of Scotland,
01:03eastern areas of northern England as well. But still some drizzly rain pushing
01:07into Wales, southern areas of England through much of the night and here is
01:10where it's going to stay muggiest overnight. Further north and west though,
01:14fresher air will arrive by tomorrow morning. So temperatures will fall
01:18through the night across parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, some areas of
01:21northern England as well. We'll be down into the lower teens but in the south
01:25and east the high teens so quite a close and sticky feeling night for some of us
01:30and probably a bit of a dull start across southern areas of England. But
01:35that will change as the day goes on and Friday is looking like a much brighter
01:38day. More in the way of sunshine particularly across England and Wales,
01:41parts of Northern Ireland as well as Scotland too. But the far north of
01:45Scotland still seeing some fairly frequent showers and quite a brisk
01:49breeze through much of the day. As a result, temperatures only 15 or 16
01:53degrees for some areas here. Different though further south, Wales and England
01:57seeing temperatures in the low 20s, possibly closer to the mid 20s across
02:01the south and east where a bit more sheltered from the breeze and we see the
02:05longest lived sunshine. So a different day to come tomorrow but a fairly
02:09disappointing day for the rest of today. Friday evening doesn't look too
02:13bad as well, not a bad end to the working week. Plenty of dry and bright
02:16weather around but cloud will spread in from the south and west bringing with it
02:21milder air for the start of Saturday. So probably some cloud and rain to start
02:25the day on Saturday. That will clear quite quickly into the afternoon and
02:29then behind it we see the air masses really start to build. Some tropical air
02:33arrives so temperatures will climb into the 30s for some of us by Sunday and
02:38into the early part of next week. If you'd like any more details on that why
02:41not check out our 10-day trend or latest weekend update on YouTube and I'll see
02:46you again soon, bye bye.
