Extremely Matted Dog Transforms To The Cutest Pup

This matted dog had more than 6 pounds of extra fur on his body — wait till you see how cute he is after his haircut ❤️ We talked to his rescuers about how he was one of the worst cases of matting they’d ever seen, and what a good boy he is now!

00:00Could you imagine seeing this, like, if they caught it as a stray or something, just seeing

00:09this walk down the road?

00:10People have seen it.

00:11It's true.

00:12Sort of looked like a prehistoric creature.

00:23Looked like he had, like, six legs.

00:24Seeing him try to move with all of that air, it was absolutely heartbreaking.

00:37He could barely walk.

00:38He was very, very hot and just couldn't even regulate his own body temperature.

00:47We have seen a lot of matted cases.

00:50Simon is definitely up there with one of the worst ones that we've ever seen.

00:59Simon was found in Kansas City, Missouri.

01:01He was brought in.

01:02You know, immediately we knew that we needed to get him help.

01:03He doesn't want to get too tight.

01:04He's like, he's relatively happy.

01:05Like, I mean, like, he was just chilling.

01:270.2, so she got 0.7.

01:34This is such a tedious job to get all of that done.

02:33This dog's handling six and a half pounds of hair.

02:54That is a significant amount for a dog that size.

02:59The process took around two hours.

03:59And then he was put on medical hold for the duration of his hospital stay.

04:17He's not as skinny as I thought he would be.

04:32He's just sort of like his own man.

04:33Like, he loves to explore.

04:37You know, every day that he was here, he was just healing.

04:43And it took him a long time just to learn how to really walk again normally.

04:58One of our staff members, she took him home over the weekend so he didn't have to stay

05:09in the shelter.

05:10He really started showing off his personality then.

05:13And she has a boxer that he immediately just fell in love with.

05:19And he was really, really cute.

05:21He would lick the boxer.

05:23He just loved her boxer so much.

05:30A couple weeks later, potential adopters came in.

05:33And he got in the bed, and he was just snuggling, doing things that we had never really ever

05:37beaten him to do before.

05:39OK, so there's your dog.

05:42So she got over on to the special diet food.

05:50He's just spinning and spinning.

05:52He's like, hey, comfy.

05:59I've just seen a lot of the same behaviors that Missy has.
