This Tiny Primate Is The World's Cutest Animal

This little creature turns into the most adorable fluff ball in just a couple of months

00:00He was found out in the open, lying on the ground, in an urban area.

00:09It's fairly common, unfortunately, with these guys.

00:13He was the smallest bush baby I've ever seen.

00:15He only weighed nine grams when he came in.

00:18I always think of the tiny bush babies as little baby yodas because they have enormous

00:24eyes and ears and this big round face.

00:30As babies they're almost bald, so they look quite alien-like.

00:38But he was a special case because he was so tiny and we all kind of just fell in love

00:42with him when we first saw him.

00:44Initially I was quite concerned because he was so small.

00:48He wasn't doing much, he slept most of the time.

00:53After about a week or two he started growing really nicely, he almost doubled in weight

00:58and he was drinking really well and looking strong and moving around.

01:01So by that point I felt a lot more optimistic that he was going to make it.

01:06He was alone for quite a while, which is unfortunate for them because they're fairly social and

01:10it's really good for them to have siblings to grow up with.

01:17Around two to three weeks old he started getting more adventurous and exploring a bit more

01:21and being willing to sniff and hop around a bit.

01:29Because they're primates they have hands that look very similar to ours but they've got

01:33very powerful hind legs.

01:34They can jump very far distances, especially for their small size.

01:39Once they reach a certain age you can kind of see the light bulb go off and they realise

01:43that this is something they can do.

01:46When the second bush baby came there was a bit of a risk initially of introducing them

01:51in that Pebble might be a bit too boisterous, but it was actually the other way around.

01:56He was a bit terrified of the new one.

01:59But within a couple of days they were snuggling together.

02:02I'd already had Pebble for about three months when he went to his soft release.

02:07You need time to adjust and learn skills like hunting insects before they can actually be

02:13fully released.

02:16So we put them up in a big enclosure outside in the bush.

02:21He's going to stay there over winter until the first rains come.

02:25He is now in a group of five and they're all getting on very well.

02:29They all sleep together in a tiny little house during the day even though they have lots

02:33of sleeping options.

02:37Once they go off in spring they should form a little family group and they should start breeding.
