00:00Roman Reigns is back.
00:29Cody Rhodes is still the WWE Universal Champion.
00:34Solo Sakoa is pissed off.
00:36Where is this all going?
00:37We're gonna get into it as we lay the path of what comes from the big events of the main
00:44event scene on SummerSlam 2024 for WWE.
00:47I'm Kevin Kellum.
00:48This is Sportskeeda Wrestling.
00:50Let us know what you think in the comments below.
00:52Earlier this week it was reported by the WrestleVotes scooping Twitter handle that the term Original
00:58Tribal Chief is going to be used for this chapter of Roman Reigns' story.
01:03This is the first time he's come back to WWE since losing his long, long reigning world
01:10title and Cody Rhodes is now the top dog in WWE.
01:15Now Solo Sakoa claims that he's the top dog in the Bloodline faction in Roman's absence
01:20and recently called him weak.
01:22And all of those little digs he's been doing at Roman along the way claiming that he's
01:26going to be the new Tribal Chief.
01:28Of course prompted Roman to return at the end of a very chaotic main event that already
01:32saw the new Samoan warriors underneath Solo's orders like Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob
01:40Batu, who's hopefully not injured, all get involved in the match with some help on Cody's
01:46side for Randy Orton and Kevin Owens who also got involved.
01:49Only for Roman Reigns to come out at the end and finally force the final pinfall after
01:54Cody hit a crossroads following Roman Reigns hitting a big spear.
01:58Of course the exchange between Roman and Cody was not a nice one, they didn't shake hands,
02:04and there's a lot more to be said with what wasn't said, yeah, the look they gave each
02:08other.
02:09There's more between them down the line.
02:11We'll get to that, don't make sure you click away from this video if you're just here for
02:14all the Roman Reigns acknowledgement, but let the acknowledging begin.
02:18That's right, Roman Reigns is back in WWE, a lot of people anticipated it this weekend
02:22on Summerslam.
02:23I for one thought it didn't need to happen now, but it happened and it's still pretty
02:27cool and that pop was amazing.
02:29Now Roman is back, and what does that mean for everyone else?
02:33That's the most important thing.
02:34What does it mean for Cody, what does it mean for Solo, what does it mean for the Bloodline,
02:38what does it mean for WWE?
02:40There's a lot of different paths that have a ripple effect from Roman jumping back into
02:45the pool.
02:46Stand back, there's a new wrestling quiz coming through, check out Brain Buster, the daily
02:52quiz that tests your WWE knowledge with winning strengths, stats, and more.
02:57It's time to see if you're up for the challenge.
03:00The blonde haired, very bitter at the moment Solo Sokoa now has to deal with Roman Reigns
03:06and clearly saying that he's the new Tribal Chief, Roman's never coming back, and Roman
03:10was weak, yeah that may have crossed the line, prompted the Big Dog, can we still call him
03:15Big Dog?
03:16With the two of them against each other singles, that's right, not a Solo match, Solo has singles
03:21matches against Roman Reigns, do we do that at the Bad Blood pay-per-view, does that happen
03:26at Bash in Berlin?
03:27I definitely see something though happening with Roman Reigns in some type of anti-Bloodline
03:33or maybe old school Bloodline group, the Usos getting back together, taking on this new
03:38Bloodline group led by Solo with Jacob Fatu and the Tongans.
03:43So where does this go, yeah, War Games, that's where I really see this thing peaking into
03:49a different, different level with two different sides of a faction driven issue and eventually
03:54finally The Rock will come back and try and govern over this entire inter-family drama
04:02and what role will he play, I don't exactly know, but I smell that he's cooking up something
04:07in this.
04:08So the shockwaves from that involve multiple wrestlers there, that isn't just Roman going
04:13after Solo, that's him going against this entire new Bloodline, a lot of supporting
04:17players get weaved into that.
04:18So how does this affect WWE overall, well, if Roman Reigns is gonna play at the same
04:24pace that he's been playing at the past few years as a featured performer that you don't
04:28see all the time, the problem gets a little bit more complicated.
04:32It's easy to be a part-time show-up-when-you-wanna-be-there type performer when you're a villain, when
04:37you're a Darth Vader villain, even a cool villain that some people still like to cheer
04:41for and throw the ones up for, right, yeah, Roman is that, but Roman now has to be a hero
04:46or maybe an eluding show-up-now-and-then type of babyface, a la The Undertaker at some
04:52point, right?
04:53Can Roman Reigns go into that type of role, where we don't see him all the time, but when
04:58we do, we'll still cheer for him as the hero, as the protagonist against an antagonist?
05:05Solo is getting good at getting heat, can Roman get good at getting people to cheer
05:10for him?
05:11Apparently they can, maybe those same fans that booed him years ago when the whole big
05:15dog-push-him-as-the-top-babyface-of-the-company thing didn't really click with everyone is
05:19clicking with a lot more majority of fans this time around, simply because of so much
05:25goodwill that was earned after him reinventing himself.
05:28But can you cheer for Roman if you don't see him all the time?
05:33Can he be a legitimate badass when he's simply just not badassing all the time?
05:38It's a challenge, and at the same time, it's gonna still eat up a lot of equity in TV time
05:43on Smackdown or Raw, wherever this storyline plays out.
05:46Considering that Roman's gonna be back, and WWE's making that big move to Netflix coming
05:50up in January, seems like a lot of this storyline could play out there, but that's just me guessing
05:55at this point.
05:56Smackdown still needs a whole lot when it makes the jump back over to USA Network.
06:00Another big factor in Roman coming back is, if he is in the A-storylines and not there
06:05all the time, who is going to play a supporting role to once again sustain his name on air
06:11when he's not there?
06:12If they're able to do it, do the Usos come back and basically represent him again when
06:18he's not there?
06:19It's just a real challenge.
06:21But another person who is clearly directly affected by Roman Reigns making a return is
06:26the WWE Universal Champion, Cody Rhodes.
06:29The fighting champion that Roman was not.
06:33Cody has to play a completely different role as a champion.
06:36He has to truly be Captain America, go out there and fight the good fight, be there all
06:40the time, make all the shows, make all the towns, do all the appearances, be a present
06:46top face of the company.
06:48But now with Roman back, is that status challenged in some way?
06:52It's a legitimate question you have to ask.
06:54Cody in the post-show press conference for WWE said he is not flinching by anyone challenging
07:00his status as the top man in WWE.
07:04And I wouldn't flinch either.
07:05Cody still got a huge, massive reaction in Ohio, and people are still squarely behind
07:10him if they're in the Cody Crybaby camp.
07:13Now for all the Roman haters out there, maybe you're saying, hey, he just comes back, he's
07:17part-time, I don't like it.
07:19Or if you're pro-Roman, you're like, get Cody out of there, I want Roman having the belt
07:22again.
07:23Here's the problem.
07:24You can't put the belt back on Roman right away.
07:27You had the belt on him for years, it played its course.
07:30They finished that story, they need a fresh one.
07:33Have Roman focus on Solo Sokoa and the Bloodline, and maybe we find our way back to this thing
07:38before WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
07:41Just saying.
07:42Let this thing play out.
07:43Obviously, after last year's WrestleMania, with so much changing on the road to that
07:47WrestleMania in Philadelphia, so much can change before next year's WrestleMania.
07:52What do you think?
