00:00Reneas is a brave little engine who enjoys working in the mountains on the island of Sodor.
00:07Even though he is little, Reneas loves feeling like a really useful engine.
00:12One day, Sir Topham Hatt came to see Reneas.
00:15I have a very important job for you, he boomed.
00:17An important job, cried Reneas. Oh, thank you, sir.
00:20You are to take some school children up into the mountains.
00:23You must make sure they have a wonderful time and are back in time for their lunch.
00:26Yes, sir, said Reneas, but he was worried.
00:29He wasn't sure he was good enough to make the trip special.
00:32When Reneas arrived at the station, the children and their teacher were waiting on the platform.
00:37How am I going to make the children's day really special, he said to Rusty.
00:42You know the mountains better than any engine, said Rusty.
00:45But Reneas wasn't sure his best would be exciting enough.
00:48He felt like a very little engine indeed.
00:51Sir Topham Hatt had told Reneas' driver to point out all the beautiful sights along the way.
00:57This is Sodor Castle, called his driver. It is very special and important.
01:01Reneas saw the castle every day. He didn't think it was special or important.
01:05I must think of something exciting to do, he puffed to himself.
01:08This is the valley view, said his driver.
01:17And here's the viaduct.
01:19Reneas was still unhappy. The trip didn't seem wonderful to him at all.
01:23Must be special, must be special, he puffed.
01:26Meanwhile, Rusty was working on the rocky ridge line.
01:29Heavy rains had washed the ground from under the tracks.
01:32These lines are too bumpy and uneven, said the foreman. The tracks must be closed for repairs.
01:38Must be special, must be special.
01:42Reneas was still trying to think of something that would make the children's trip special.
01:47He didn't know the linesman had forgotten to switch the points.
01:53Suddenly, Reneas was on the wrong track.
01:55Oh, no! This line is closed for repairs!
01:58Bust my buffers, chuffed Reneas.
02:00Be careful, cried Rusty. The tracks are very bumpy.
02:03Reneas whooshed down the mountain like a roller coaster.
02:06The children cheered.
02:11Reneas puffed up the rocky ridge with all his might.
02:14His coach clattered and bumped and bounced along behind.
02:17And the children oohed and aahed.
02:19Reneas chuffed and puffed as hard as he could.
02:21He steamed across the trestle bridge.
02:23He was going so fast, the teacher nearly lost her hat.
02:26Reneas splashed under a waterfall.
02:28The children laughed happily.
02:30And the teacher covered her eyes.
02:35At last, they could see the station.
02:37Reneas was very tired and worried.
02:40What would Sir Topham Hatt say?
02:42Phew, said the teacher. Just in time for lunch.
02:45It was the best school trip ever, cried the children.
02:48Sir Topham Hatt wasn't cross with Reneas. He was happy, too.
02:51You gave the children a wonderful trip.
02:53You really are a very useful engine.
02:55Oh, thank you, sir, puffed Reneas proudly.
02:57Reneas didn't feel like a little engine anymore.
